Ok, Led Zeppelin are not prog...and they dont have to be in this site... Having said that, they do have some prog elements or even songs... The thing goes like this, take one song of each album, the one you like the most...or even the one you think its the porggiest! good question.... 1- Black Mountain Side 2- Ramble On 3- Gallows Pole 4 - Battle of Evermore (a stunning track.. worthy of any great prog album) HotH- No Quarter PG - Kasmir Presence - Achilles Last Stand ITtOD - Carouselambra not a prog band IMO... but lots of great proggy moments... ------------- The Pedro and Micky Experience - When one no longer requires psychotropics to trip |

one from each of their albums? ill just go with a few of their best and most progressive.

2- Over the Hills far Away
3-Babe, im gonna leave you
4-Battle of Evermore
5-Kashmire
6-no quarter
7-achilles last stand
All Great tunes, tho not extremelyt proggy, i believe those songs embody the most prog from a once a century band. LUV THA ZEP!

Zep I - "Babe, I'm Gonna' Leave You" It's a blues, but done quite proggy. Zep II - "Whole Lotta' Love" It get's pretty abstact in the middle. Zep III - "Friends" This was definitely pushing the envenlope Zep IV - "Stairway" It has that epic quality, or "The Battle of Evermore" Houses - "The Rain Song" Graffiti - "Kashmir" Epic, and many different influences. Presence - "Nobody's Fault but Mine" For the variations in its structure Out Door - "Carouselambra" This was obviously influenced by some prog keyboard players. Led Zeppelin is my all time favorite band - so i love all of their songs. Here are the tracks that i think are the proggiest.
I - Dazed and Confused, Black Mountain Side (up there w/ all the other favorite acoustic songs)
II - Whole Lotta Love, Bring It On Home (i love the harmonica)
III - Since I've Been Loving You
IV - Stairway To Heaven, The Battle of Evermore
HOTH - Song Remains The Same, The Rain Song, No Quarter
Physical Graffiti - In My Time of Dying, Kashmir, In The Light, Bron-Yr-Aur (another favorite acuoustic track), Ten Years Gone
Presence - Achilles Last Stand, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Tea For One
ITTOD - Carouselambra

Why listen to the pupil's version, when maestro Bert Jansch's 1966 version of Black Mountain Side is the definitive version - btw Jansch only claimed arranger status for the traditional folk tune on his 1966 Jack Orion album while subsequently Page claimed to have written it.................
On a lighter note, and please forgive me picking up on some English errors, but the unintended reinterpretation sort of gives some new meanings:

Zep I: Dazed and Confused (Willie Dixson never sounded so good).
Zep II: No real stand outs to my mind, I guess I go with Moby Dick.
Zep III: Bron-yr-aur (Stomp) (my second favorite Zep album)
Zep IV: Black Dog
Houses: Over Hills and Far Away (possibly my least favorite Zep album)
Physical: In the Light (Easily head and shoulders above every other tune on that album)
Presence: Tea for One
In Through the Out Door: Carouselambra (but In the Evening is close behind) (my favorite Zep album)

This really is murder, as Zep seemed unable to make duff tracks until about 'Presence', imo, but nothing from them has me really cringing in any case (I can just about tolerate 'The Crunge', even). They're easily the most consistent band in the whole heavy rock genre, even though I'm not so fussed on their last few albums.
