While the renaissance instrumentation was nice, I found Kate Bush's latest at times sounding like some dance/synth pop artist, being more stripped down, and less prog symphonic/electronic experimentation.

You're quite right as regards the two final songs of the second album, "Nocturn" and the title-track. The rest of the album is (obviously IMHO) very melodic and intriguing, with some really exquisite soundscapes.

Queen really shouldn't be there, they were a whole different league. Still, since they are, I vote for them.

I don't like disco music at all but ELO has very nice songs and excellent string arrangements mostly the albums el dorado and new world record. I've been told that the first three are even proggier but haven't heard them yet.

Queen!! It was sort of hard to decide but I chose Queen because they have a fair chunk of their discography that I really like.

Queen just mere millimetres in front of Kate Bush.

And, if they'd be in here, Led Zeppelin  Hug (no, I don't want to start the discussion on their inclusion again).

hmm... repeat after me.... not proggier...but prog hahaha Wink  Eldorado (the fourth) was IMO the album where ELO started the  slide from being a 'pure' prog band to what people here consider Prog Related.  I call it evolving... progressing....progressive.....prog LOL
