Unfortunately I have not heard De Profundis as yet (which is supposed to be the best), but out of the others - their second is my favourite. All of them are great actually.

Struggle For Life is an awesome live show.

But, i still prefer De Profundis to it (which are the only two AC albums i have).

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

I have heard all their albums and even seen this great and orignial sounding band live (44 spectators ...) a few years ago, to me De Profundis sounds as their most mature and captivating album.

44 spectators for a group that use a philarmonic orchestra and have played starless with John Wetton, hmmm I didn't imagine it. I think language is sort of handicap but I enjoy the songs sung in hungarian more than the english ones.

Megalazotak es Megszomoritotak for me. De Profundis has some brilliant highs but it's too long and the quality varies a great deal from track to track.

Most progheads prefer to lay down between their headphones and listening to prog rather than going to concerts by small bands or less known groups Cry ....
I use to go to De Boerderij, near The hague in Holland. Two years ago I was delighted about the Anekdoten concert in Holland but only 100-150 progheads attended this gig while 700-800 were allowed ... this was also the case with Ange, they performed for the second time in Holland after 30 years, no more than 100-150 fans ...Cry ..

Fortunately the concert by After crying was, despite the very small crowd, great Thumbs Up. The band played so inspired, later the musicians told me that they enjoyed our enthousiastic reactions very much but also that After Crying had played for large crowds (a few thousands) in South-America!

In fact, the after crying cellist was a guest musician in a recording of a venezuelan prog band (Tempano if I'm not wrong). Brazil, Argentina and Chile are visited constantly by many prog and non prog great bands, I'd like to say the same of my own country.

I just cast a vote for De Profundis as this is the one I keep returning to. But this week I have been playing Struggle for Life almost non-stop......but this is just to feed my desire to re-create the live show from Budapest last month!

"6" is also much better than generally given credit for. I accept it takes a few listens to grow but when it does, its got real staying power.

Overall, anyone looking to start an After Crying collection, can't go wrong with DeProfundis.....

I bought Show and really like it.  Finally broke down and bought Struggle For Life thinking it was going to blow me away and after one listen was really disappointed.  Gotta keep trying but it seems awful sparse.  I was looking for bombast and got a bunch of one and two instrument songs.

I acquired De Profundis since then, and love it to the full, but still their second is their best IMO.
And again - all of them are great!!!

I like Overground Music a lot. Sure it's different in a way, but still.

I really love AFTER CRYING one of the best bands of the last decade...

My vote goes for 6, maybe 'cos for the album brings me to many memories of ELP (obvious, don't you think?)... but where are the live albums???...

Even I love De Profundis and Fold Es Eg...

Doesn't matter..  AC is quiet a piece of art!!!
