From the list it's IMAGINE for me, but there are such a lot of great songs by Lennon. Just think of "Working Class Hero" or "Woman Is The Nigger Of The World" with their clear political statements, the unbelievable "How Do You Sleep?" where he comes out with all his anger towards Paul ("The sound you make is muzak to my ears, You must have learned something in all those years"), or from the list "Mother" - the pure pain he expresses over the loss of his mum, and of course "Jealous Guy" of which not only the Roxies made a pretty good cover soon after John's death, but which the Black Crowes also used to have in their set-list for some time. ------------- "We've got to get in to get out" |

For me it's God, it has such a powerful message that my spine tingles when he says 'I just believe in me'. And the vocals are plain awesomeness. Good stuff, good stuff. -------------

You can't argue with "Imagine." It's such a beautiful, positive, conceptual statement. I would like to through a few of my other favorites out there. "God" has always had an important message for me. "Instant Karma" for the same reason. "Gimme Some Truth" is a great political commentary. "Working Class Hero" has some layers that aren't always obvious. ------------- a.k.a. umm ... .buhh ... ahhh ... what?  Nothing against Sir Paul, but Lennon was the superior songwriter. Paul is great at nice, catchy melodies. If you want substance, you have to go to JL. Even Harrison was deeper than McCartney. Don't get me wrong, Paul is capable of substance too. I love "Chaos and Creation." John was just better at it. ------------- a.k.a.
