OMG I played this album constantly when it was released and in the subsequent years,in my opinion there is not one bad track on it.

Hard to pick my fave, here is my top 3:
1.Heaven and Hell
2.Children of the Sea
3.Neon Knights

I used to have Heaven and Hell on 8 track tape, played it to death. I have to say that Neon Knights and Heaven and Hell are my favorites, but I loved them all.

One of the best albums of all time, period....Heart

My personal favourite is actually "Die Young" (love the lyrics too), with "Lonely Is the Word" as a close second (killer guitar solo by Tony I!).

An astonishing album, considering the poor Sabbath albums that preceded it and the compatability of Ozzy with Sabbath. Dio fitted like a glove (he did some excellent versions of some Ozzy material on 'Live Evil', imo). The title track is my favourite one here, but the riff was blatantly rehashed from a NWOBHM band Quartz that Iommi produced and keyboard player Geoff Nichols was in- the song was called 'Mainline Warriors' I believe.

I really liked 'Mob Rules' too- in fact, it has arguably the ultimate Dio era Sabbath track, 'Sign Of The Southern Cross'. It was the last genuinely good Sabbath album until 'The Eternal Idol' in 1988!!

Title track for the win.

An excellent album indeed, but I refuse to agree with those who say that Never Say Die was not an excellent release as well.

I have to admit to liking "Mob Rules", though of course it is not on a par with H&H. "The Sign of The Southern Cross" is an absolute cracker! I also agree on "Live Evil", which is a great live album for all the rumours that surround it (like Dio tampering with the mix in order to have his voice higher than the other instruments).

Wasn't that why he was driven out of the band? That's what I heard IMO.

He also left because he wasn´t credited with his full name, they just said Ronnie Dio-Vocals

It's such a great and consistent album - and I find it difficult to choose between the crushing "Turn Up The Night" and the chillingly atmospheric "Die Young".

Raf: Sign Of The Southern Cross is the only thing I would keep on Mob Rules.
