What do have these songs in common? Only a same word in their name? I feel there is a similar atmospeher in some parts of Machine Messiah like in Welcome To The Machine...

Only got Drama this last week, though I had heard Machine Messiah before. It is a decent tune, but nowhere near the class of Welcome To The Machine. Easy choice for me :) |

"Machine Messiah" is quite a good song, only quite a good song. Nothing more. Yes has created much more interesting songs in his career. "Welcome To The Machine" is one of the most excellent songs --> not only in discography of Pink Floyd, but in music history. Pink Floyd. |

Drama is one of Yes' best albums, and Machine Messiah is Drama's best song. It took me a good while to discover the absence of Jon in that one! (Sorry Jon). Welcome to the machine is too long, and the voices are awful. I don't remember any other PF song sung so ugly. But I like the keyboard melody in the middle....anyway, machine messiah. ------------- I like Tormato, so shoot me! Every person in the world can't think the same. |

I'm gonna say 'Welcome to the machine' but they're very different songs and difficult to compare. MM is the best song on 'Drama' and generally a very good Yes song. WTTM is atmospheric masterpiece. It's one of those PLAY LOUD songs. The tension achieved by Waters voice and Wrights synth work is amazing.  ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |
