I think this british band deserves inclusion for prog related. Just listen to ' Lord Of The Ages' or' Seasons' or even ' Prisoners On The Line', all great concept albums. Sure there is no denying folk influences but the progressive sounds are all to clear. | I think so, yeah. I believe they are already on the folk prog collaborator list. I have a 2cd of their early albums on it, I'll give it another listen but I think they fit the brief with some ease. I think Rick Wakeman appeared on a few albums as session pianist- a bit of prog trivia. |

Well their later career (only the mainstay and his wife) is certainly not prog.
I understand that some of their early albums might appear as progressive and the conceptual (and IMHO rather cheesy) side might enhance the prog feeling, but musically I do not find them all that intricate.
They might fit in prog-related, though.
In case I would agree to include them ( I will re-rent the first three albums for next week and discuss it with Tony Fisher), is there someone willing to write out a bio and once I opened the artiste entry page, can someone fill in their discography? ------------- let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Mmm, despite my claims to the contrary I'm playing one of their albums now- 'Songs From Wasties Orchard'- and it sounds closer to Simon and Garfunkel than anything progressive...

I have 3 of their albums, and I don't think they are even suited for
prog related. If we reject David Bowie and put in Magna Carta,
something is wrong. IMHO of course.

I have two of their albums, lord of the ages is quite good, the other one Martin's Cafe is nothing special.
I think they fit in prog-related, but I don't think it's really progressive. Lord Of The Ages is one great song BTW.

'Seasons' is my favourite MC record a concept record with good orchestral arrangemnts (R. Wakeman, on keys and Tony Visconti on bass and recorders + the LSO), the general athmosphere is very 'douce ', a nice record for a autumn afternoon. 'Lord Of The Ages' is my second favourite with the epic title track, which is 100% Prog. ------------- Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear "Hey there! Rotter's Club! That's the one yes. I must say after that I wouldn't have given them a yes vote- 'Seasons' is a bit more progressive with a side long track, I guess though. Perhaps not one for the 'prog folk' category after all.
