I don't see many reviews for MAgna carta label artists.... that label is dying I think, but it had a lot of very, very original bands and albums alongside works by the traditional forces of today's prog.... Why is that?

Magna Carta did have many great acts-- but also alot of bad ones. Even some of the bigger names put out some mediocre stuff on that label, though I was pleased with several from them; Liquid Tension Experiment, Jordan Rudess, some others.

Magna Carta signed their death certificate with the explosion of tributes they made.

Some were good (Encores, Lregends & Paradox), others average (Tales from Yesterday), some terrible (The Fox Lies Down) but the real problem is that many of their musicians started to be recognized as copyists more than real composers and even when a Tribute is great you can't avoid nasty comparisons with the real deal.

They selected the easy path of using an already successful formula, but listening Wetton singuing instead of Lake, Gabriel or Anderson bored.
