Let me introduce you a great Polish jazz-rock act. They were considered by many as the best jazz-rock ensemble behind the Iron Curtain:

LABORATORIUM

Discography:

1972 - BIAŁY KRUK CZARNEGO KRĄŻKA (a compilation, only side A of the LP was dedicated to Laboratorium)
1976 - MODERN PENTATHLON
1977 - AQUARIUM LIVE (live)
1977 - DIVER
1979 - QUASIMODO
1980 - NOGERO
1982 - THE BLUE LIGHT PILOT (live)
1984 - No. 8
1986 - ANATOMY LESSON
2006 - Anthology 1971-1988. Nagrania wszystkie (no… prawie wszystkie) - 10CD BOX

I've bought the anthology. Highly recommended! It's a limited edition to 1000 copies (my copy has the number 274):

just to boost its introduction to the PA database, here is a description of this band in the gibraltar encyclopedia of progressive rock :

Laboratorium [Poland]

Live: On the Blue Light Pilot (82), No. 8 (84)

Polish instrumental progressive jazz-rock band, some albums are more jazz oriented, others lean to a http://www.gepr.net/genre2.html#FUSION - fusion type sound with more variety of styles. The Blue Light Pilot is a live one, one of their very best.

The Laboratorium I know of is a Polish http://www.gepr.net/genre2.html#FUSION - fusion band from the '70s whose charcteristic is/was an instrumental singer; that is he doesn't sing any words but plays with his voice. Despite the original approach there is something missing, as often is the case with jazz-rock and me.

I don't know why but when I sent them to mystic recently via megaupload it didn't allow him to download them. And yousendit ceased to work for me recently as well... Do you know any other similar services?

Well I'm listening to the first sample! 20 minutes long! And it starts off psychedelia/jazz for the first few minutes. Seems progressive to me.

I think they would be a great addition to the site. It has some good prog elements, according to me. I'll have another listen soon.

Confused

you write "bump" when you wish to move a thread up the list of active topics in a forum list (ie to the top) to get it reconsidered, without habving to post anything extra.

He is inviting further comment or action...by "bumping" the thread to the top..

I wish it was. I am sick of going to wikipedia for answers that make me feel like I should know what it means already.

Back to the band:

I think they are a good addition to the Jazz Rock / Fusion section (like I said before).

Samples I've heard (many thanks Tuzvihar) put Laboratorium firmly in the jazz rock fusion section. Musically hints of post-Wyatt Soft Machine, Nucleus, and of course a great slug of originality and musicianship.

I sent all information (bio, discography, pic) to Dick Heath and I'm waiting for him to add them. When he does it I'll submit their albums.
