Many things missing in Polish bands infos!
Let's start with the pics.

Albion

Ankh
(btw, the website listed in the band's info doesn't seem to exist, also some albums are missing)

Apteka (many albums and bio missing)

Kont Ra Burger (should be one word - Kontraburger, bio missing)

Millenium (Framauro and Millenium are one band. Framauro changed its name to Millenium.)

Mr. Gil (a project of Mirosław Gil, a guitarist of Collage, Satellite and Believe: http://www.mirekgil.com/ - http://www.mirekgil.com/ )

Satellite (on the picture Wojciech Szadkowski)

Svann (a project of musicians from Abraxas and a vocalist Anja Orthodox - she's on the pic below)

Xenn (a project of former musicians from Abraxas - Łukasz Święch and Rafał Ratajczak, couldn't find a pic)

That's all for now. I'll be posting here missing information successively.

Thanks!

I think that entries for Framauro and Millenium should be merged into one Framauro/Millenium. As I mentioned before they are the same band who changed its name. I read it on the website listed here as the official website of Framauro which is the official website for both. The website is run by the leader of the band Ryszard Kramarski.

Oops, I missed Framauro .... can't really use the same pic because it clearly has Millenium emblazoned across the top .... perhaps we should put your suggestion [merging them] to the Neo Prog team ....

There's a mistake in Exodus - The Most Beautiful Dream tracklist:

LP - Track list:
1. Ci wybrani/Stary noe (9:00)
2. Zloty promien slonca (5:15)
3. Widok Z góry najwyzszej (5:45)
4. Ten najpiekniejszy dzien (9:20)

Total Time: 39:20

The timing should be: 19:20.

Hello again. Wink

I'm in the process of adding albums of Marek Grechuta. One of his albums was recorded twice (1972 and 1991) and issued with diffrenet covers. I wanted to put both covers so I merged them into one pic:

http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14611 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14611

The pic was automatically reduced. I'd like it to be in its original size (height: 400, width: 200). Is it possible? Confused

Sorry, Bartek, site rules are that the original cover must be displayed at maximum 200x200 pixels ..... yours was reduced because it exceeded the height restrictions . Could you post the original one here so that I can update the album.

But don't despair .... if the 1991 version is genuinely a re-recording then it should be treated as a separate album and therefore you can create a new entry for it ..... I suggest appending (1991) to the title.

I did as you suggested. But I noticed I made some mistakes. I inserted lineups in wrong format (with "-" instead of "/") here:

http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14652 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14652

and here (last position):

http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14687 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14687

And one more thing. Could you please check all Grechuta albums lineups and change "viola" to "cello"? I just used the wrong word. Sorry... Embarrassed (in "Korowód" lineup though Tadeusz Kożuch played indeed viola but Anna Wójtowicz played cello)

EDIT: one more mistake  made by me: http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14689 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=14689
track number 3: 3. Krajobraz z Wilgą i ludzie (03:05) - remove the "0" from before the "3".

I spotted some mistakes in my NURT biography: http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2755 - http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=2755
Correct version below:

NURT biography

This legendary Polish band emerged in 1971 as a continuation of another legendary ensemble, Romuald i Roman. Their first lineup consisted of Roman Runowicz - g, voc, Ryszard Sroka - dr, Aleksander Mrożek - g, voc, Kazimierz Cwynar - bg, voc, with the so-called artistic director Andrzej Kuryło who was the author of all lyrics.

The band's music was said to be inspired by Colosseum, Jimi Hendrix and John Mayall. It existed on and off till 1977 with some lineup changes. Other musicians who appeared in the lineup were Jan Jacek Baron (ex-Romuald i Roman), Piotr Iskrowicz (later in Bank), Mieczysław Jurecki (later in Budka Suflera). The band collaborated also with some jazz musicians such as Włodzimierz Plaskota, Tomasz Stańko, Julian Kurzawa.

The band made its debut in January 1972 at The II Modern Youth Music Festival in Kalisz. 1972 also saw the release of their only LP. In spite of public acclaim, the band proved short-lived and faded soon after. Cwynar and Mrozek moved on to Test, then became a nucleus of Porter Band's classic line-up from 1979-80.

NURT left only one, self-titled album, and also some radio recordings. In 1994 a new version of the album was released, advertised as a reissue with bonus tracks. However, it consisted of tracks with the same titles as on the LP but in completely different versions. The actual reissue came out in 2004.

At the beginning of the 90s the band reactivated (lineup: Sylwia Damasiewicz - voc, Kazimierz Marut - dr, Aleksander Mrożek - acg, g, k, psg, Bogdan Tymoszuk - bg), and released an album called "Motyle i kloszardzi". but it contained a completely different music, closer to classic rock. The next reunion took place in the new century. The band members meet with each other and play some concerts from time to time.

Bartek Ślązak (Tuzvihar) - Poland

2. Jeszcze pożyjemy (4:42)
3. Krajobraz z Wilgą i ludzie (03:05)
4. Gdzieś w nas (3:32)

6. Wędrówka (4:56)
7. Pewność (5:14)
8. Może usłyszysz wołanie o pomoc (5:28)

I've just spent a while searching, and only came up with one other reference to these albums .... http://daz.com/releases/Marek%20Grechuta/the%20best.html - http://daz.com/releases/Marek%20Grechuta/the%20best.html .... which has the same details as yours, but no cover  Confused

So ..... is it the same album ... perhaps the 1997 version is an expanded re-issue for the international market? Any ideas?

I googled the label "FDM Records" and I got: http://www.fdmrecords.com/ - http://www.fdmrecords.com/
It looks like it's not the label that issued Marek Grechuta's compilation. There must have been another FDM Records...? Confused
I'm not an expert in Grechuta's discography and I don't have this album. I haven't found it on two other sites at all... What's the site's policy in such cases?

BTW, I noticed that the discography listed under Grechuta's bio misses polish letters. Correct version:

Discography:

Korowód (1971 - studio album)
Droga za widnokres (1972 - studio album)
Magia obłoków (1974 - studio album)

Pieśni Marka Grechuty do słów Tadeusza Nowaka (1979 - studio album)
Śpiewające obrazy (1981 - studio album)
W malinowym chruśniaku (1984 - studio album)
Wiosna - ach to ty (1987 - studio album)
Krajobraz pełen nadziei (1989 - studio album)
Ocalić od zapomnienia (1990 - compilation)
Piosenki dla dzieci i rodziców (1991 - studio album)
Dziesięć ważnych słów (1994 - studio album)
Niezwykłe miejsca (2003 - studio album)

And there's only one compilation listed here while there's obviously more. I haven't added all of them yet.

Strange... There are also polish letters missing in the bio! But it was me who wrote it and I'm sure they were there... Confused
Anyway, here's the corrected version:

MAREK GRECHUTA was born on 10 December 1945 in Zamość, where he went to primary and secondary school. He’d been interested in music since childhood and begun to learn playing the piano at the age of seven.

He bound his fate with Kraków though, where he moved to study architecture. There GRECHUTA met his future friend Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz, with whom he decided to start a cabaret group in the manner of Piwnica pod Baranami (an artistic bohema in Kraków which lasts to this day). This cabaret act, which took the name ANAWA (from the French 'en avant', which means “forward”), begun to perform in a student club “Bambuko”. The first decent success came with the performance on Festiwal Piosenki Studenckiej in 1967. GRECHUTA took the second place in this contest behind a young student from Warszawa – Maryla Rodowicz (who later also became a famous singer in Poland). The final of the contest was broadcast live by the television what enabled the young archtecture student to be seen by the whole Poland. The next important event for MAREK GRECHUTA was his taking part in FAMA Festival, where the young artist won the first prize.
Those successes led him to perform on the most important contest in Poland in that time, which was the Festival in Opole. In the next year, 1970, GRECHUTA released his debut album called simply “Marek Grechuta & Anawa” (predated by a 4-song EP in 1969). It was a mix of cabaret, lyrical songs with neobaroque sound so characteristic, as it turned out later, for ANAWA.

In 1971 MAREK GRECHUTA and Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz recorded their second album, titled “Korowód”, which is considered one of the most important in the history of Polish popular music. It contained two songs regarded as generation hymns - "Świecie nasz" and title “Korowód”. This album made GRECHUTA a star!

Despite all this successes the band suddenly broke up. GRECHUTA and Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz split. As GRECHUTA admitted himself, there were too many individualities in the group, so it couldn’t last long.

MAREK GRECHUTA arranged his own band then – WIEM. The name is an abbreviation of “w innej epoce muzycznej”, which means “in another musical epoch”. This way he wanted to communicate the complete change of musical direction. The two albums he recorded with WIEM – “Droga za widnokres” in 1972 and “Magia Obłoków” in 1974 – are the key albums for any prog lover who wants to explore GRECHUTA’s works. The music they contain is magical, poetic art rock with jazz influences.

However, the artist himself felt unsure of hi new musical direction, and his flirt with art rock ended in 1976, when he begun to cooperate with Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz again. Together they reactivated ANAWA (with known from LABORATORIUM Ścierańscy brothers), and wrote a musical based around works of a Polish avantgarde writer Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz (also called Witkacy) titled “Szalona Lokomotywa”. This musical and LP with music from it (issued in 1977) made a huge success after which GRECHUTA and Pawluśkiewicz split again.

In the following years MAREK GRECHUTA performed in Piwnica pod Baranami and issued many good and well received albums with compositions to poems of several Polish poets. In 1991 he surprised his fans by rerecording material from “Droga za widnokres” with ANAWA in order to expose young generations to this cult masterpiece.

In 1994 MAREK GRECHUTA recorded an album titled “Dziesięć ważnych słów” dealing with social problems, which was unusual for him. He was really adored and, when at the age of 60 he suddenly died (though it wasn’t a secret that he’d been ill for a long time) on 9 October 2006, the whole of Poland was in mourning...
