When I logged on this morning the forum page was very different and there was little purple on the page, also the latest posts sction was missing.

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Here is a screen shot.

As you can see there is no purple (Cry) and no latest posts list. (Cry)

Tony R did announce that mailto:M@X - M@X will do some changing work on improving the system. Perhaps the layout got the treatment as well.

And when I tried posting that last message I got a bunch of spamming notices. Even though I waited like a minute in between posts.

Maybe if I restarted my computer and thus the internet connection...

The pull down menu lets you pick how long of a time you want to see and it shows you what threads have been posted in.

For instance if I picked the 8 hours from the pull down menu it would show me what threads have been posted in over the preceding eight hours.

Posted By: Easy Livin

The active topic facility shows all the threads which have been active (i.e. had further posts) since your last visit.

didn't understood that last part, is my explorer (right now I have IE6, but normally Firefox) responsible for rejecting the feature? Confused

up in the typing boxes, I can enlarge the emoticons. but upon submiting the post, they stick to their original format.

I will give the big emoticon secret up. YOu have to click the reply button next to the quote button. Before adding an emoticon make the size as big as it can go. Then stretch out the emoticon to the size you want. Sorry about not telling you earlier I was just having some childish fun by being one of the few able to resize it. Sorry for the immaturity on my part.

or is just a one try before working completely, no matter what?

I don't understand you. I think you have to resize every time before you try to stretch out an emoticon.

You change the size to the highest and then click on the emoticon you want straight after. That's how I did it.

But most of all, I miss the "alternating colors" of the backgrounds of the thread titles on the forum list.  Now the place looks like a cheap-ass PHP board, instead of the classy subtlety of the former design.
