I was just curious. I have seen many people refering to the conclusion of Gates Of Delirium as "soon", and now I ask. does Gates of Delirium have named movements or subparts?? and if so what are they??.  I've got my CD copy and it does not mention anything related. so where the "soon" name came from??

Thanx.

According to wikipedia (  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gates_of_Delirium - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gates_of_Delirium  ), it does not have titled subsections, but the last section was released as a single under the title "Soon".

And here's a link to the lyrics: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/y/yes/the+gates+of+delirium_20148489.html - http://www.lyricsfreak.com/y/yes/the+gates+of+delirium_20148489.html

Confusingly; I seem to remember seeing a U.S. copy around the time of the original release showing the track listing as:-

1. Gates of Delirium
2. Soundchaser
3. To be Over
(i).Soon

On the remastered cd, Soon is a seperate bonus single edit. There is no mention of sub-sections.
A bit like one of single releases of And You and I but with chunks removed and re-edited to make it 'radio friendly'.

The Soon part was not only released as a single with that name, as a matter of fact I think at fisrt it did not have that name. But from what I have heard the fans started to call that part Soon and Yes discided to name it that way also...but I might be wrong

I have two 'normal' lp's from the time of original release and there are no subtitles. They may have but that on a reissue or something. You know, after the edit got some radio play and some fame. I believe "soon" is on the tracklist for a live album or possibly a compilation. I don't have it though.

have never seen or heard any mention of any subsections..  I also have the sheet music for the song and the album.  There is no mention of it either.
