Quote This four-piece band from Detroit, Michigan, is headed by composer, keyboardist and vocalist Ryan Parmenter (DISCIPLINE). Fellow DISCIPLINE members Mathew Kennedy (bass) and Bob Young (drums) as well as guitarist Alan Rutter from RCA PROJECT complete the roster.

No. Ryan Parmenter was never in Discipline, his uncle Matthew Parmenter was in Discipline.

Quote Despite the strong DISCIPLINE connexion, however, EYESTRINGS are only a distant cousin, their style being closer to that of SPOCK'S BEARD both musically and lyrically (Parmenter's vocals come quite close to Neil Morse's).

Eystrings sound nothing like SB when it comes to melodic/harmonic style and Parmenter isn't even close to Morse's forced Bryan Adams-style smokiness - and he certainly doesn't slide out of notes with a little quaver, extending line-ending words by three syllables (where "way" inevitably becomes "way-yay-hay-hay", for instance).

I'd say there are many touchstones with Discipline, even down to some melody lines that veer very close to the elder Parmenter's. There's a bit of Echolyn in there and maybe some elements of Power Pop as well. Definitely American, but refreshingly free of the Styx/Journey/Foreigner influence that pollutes so much modern Prog.

God, even when you simply report an error you have to get on your soapbox. This is not an opinion forum!

I will change the Ryan / Discipline reference, but otherwise I shall simply inform the Neo Prog team of your other comments ... it will be up to them to decide what to do about them.

I noted factual errors and supported the notes with solid empirical facts. You, however, only stated an opinion about me. Them's the facts.

I have not stated anything about you. I have stated the FACT that this forum is not designed for opinions but for reporting errors and omissions. That is a fact.
