Yep. We've all been there. Listening to the Strawbs. I know. It's a weakness.

Anyways, one song HAS to be better than the rest. I'll ignore the ones that are just decent atmosphere and focus on the crop of the corn.

Both "Witchwood" and "Hangman" are good options, folksy and driving. "Sheep" though comes real close to best song (I might even like it more than the Pink Floyd song...another poll?). But it loses me at the very end.

So my favorite, from first listen to last, is "I'll Carry On Beside You." Who's with me?

All the tracks from the album are amazing, really! One of their most beautiful records for sure!

The most representative song is perhaps "Witchwood" and, close second, The Hangman and the Papist, featuring a great contribution by then a certain member Wakeman.

Ah, The Whistler, you've forgotten to cast your vote for I'll Carry On...

This is one of my most favouritist (sic) Strawbs albums.

Witchwood is a lovely song, marred not at all by Wakeman, which is good.

I love Cousins, Hooper and the boys, but I'm glad the caped one was only on a couple of their albums!

It is against compant policy for the Whistler to vote in his own polls.

My personal favourites are, in order "Witchwood", "In Amongst the Roses", and of course "The Hangman and the Papist".

When I first got into the Strawbs a few years back, this was one of their albums that caught my ear  right off, but upon further listens quickly lost its' appeal, though I don't know why. When I anthologised my CDs, the only song I kept, & which I still regularly play is Sheep.
