A one-man band project. Instrumental meanderings in Post-Rock vein (think of GYBE or MONO).

Here we have a track entitled http://www.realmusic.ru/play/file/hifi/44850/307290/park_luny_307290.mp3 - Park Luny

Enjoy!!! Feedbacks are welcome!

Shocked!

Wow Prog-jester! This is a wonderful song, no kidding! I have high hopes for you. Clap

I like the childish mood at first and the reggae-ish rhythm guitar shortly after. The rest of the song (crescendos and all) is excellent.

Got anymore great tunes to share?

Beautiful!!ClapClapClap

The middle part a little bit too protracted, maybe, but hey, who am I to judge? Very, very enjoyable!

Mark me in for the beginning of the queue of buyers when the CD will finally see the light of the day.

Well, taking into consideration, that it was composed mostly during the recording session (except for this catchy theme for two guitars)... Well, yes, the crescendo parts may seem a bit too short, while quiet ones are more frequent, but I wish you'd only know what is the pleasure to play it by yourself

Hi there Prog-jester!

Wow you have some very creative stuff here.  I guess I'll start at the beginning.

'Park Luny' - I think you really captured the song with that title (or the title with the song?  I guess it depends on which one came first!).  The way the song meanders from one theme into another is both childlike and looney-like.  With the scratching and out-of-tune noises, you've superimposed a touch of madness on otherwise peaceful sounds, and I think it works very well.  The ethereal guitar brings in some very intense emotions - I heard glee and desperation, personally, which is odd since those things usually don't mix.  I love the happy but out-of-tune ending!  I do have one negative comment - the scratching noises are very loud compared to the other sounds, and I found I had to turn the volume down quite a bit during those parts or it hurt my ears (which means I couldn't clearly hear your other sounds behind the scratching, either).  I may just have sensitive ears, or maybe I had the volume up too high in the first place - your call.

'Muzikoy...': Lovely, and reminiscent of music from the movie 'Blade Runner' (which I love).  I can see a replicant dying in the rain to this music...  I noticed you're using a similar quick-strum ambient guitar in this song as you did in 'Park Luny'.  I think it is more effective on this track, with the solo guitar over it.  When the song changes gear to a more mellow landscape, it successfully gives the listener (well, at least me) a necessary chance to recover from the constant guitar strumming that preceeded it - otherwise I think the fuzzy effects in the last 1/3 of the song would have been too much.  As it is, I think they're in just the right spot.  I like that you blended effects from the first 1/3 of the song into parts near the end.  I wasn't crazy about the last several seconds of the song where the drums take over, though.

The part of 'The Fried Bull's Blues' that you have up is amazing, definately my favorite of the three.   I love the subtle effects, and how the theme grows and changes slightly throughout the whole song.  For some reason the combination of sounds you have there at several points reminded me of a Gregorian Chant, even though I'm pretty sure there was no chanting in there.  Bringing in the heavy guitars toward the end really added an urgent element that enhanced the song as a whole, but especially the softer ending.  Great job!

I hope you don't mind reading long posts... I like to give useful feedback rather than just tell you whether I liked something or not. :)

THANKS, STARSONGAGELESS !!!

Wow, one of the most detail and sane analysis I ever faced !!!

On noises in "Park Luny" - I had and still do an opportunity to make these noises less hurting, but I don't want to I like the way they ruin the sleepy mood...

On "Muzikoy..." - I adore last 6 minutes of the song (well, I like it as a whole too. but... you know...), and especially the culmination after the quiet part !!!

On "Bluz..." - this is the sanest part, taken from there Originally it begins with 3 minutes of horror-movie-like deep noises, then this part follows and at last we have 10 minutes of really BLUESy tune (in 6/8) - but as if played by CAN jamming with Doom-Metal band !!!

Thank you all for feedbacks - I'll post some unreleased demos soon, not that qualified, but less sane Hope you'll enjoy them !!!

Hey there Prog-jester,

No problem!  I love listening to new music, and I am very interested in new progressive especially.

Hehe yep the scratches certainly do disturb the sleepiness. :)  If that's you're intention, well-done, it is definitely effective!

I'm liking this new version of Muzikoy, although it for some reason doesn't sound like the same song to me.  I don't hear the Blade-Runner-like effect anymore, did I follow the wrong link?  There was no sudden drumming at the end either.  I checked the 'Blues' link and it's definitely the same song I heard before.  Hehe I'm confused. :)

Anyway, I'll be here waiting for updates. :)  And updating my own band's stuff, too, slowly but surely.

http://www.realmusic.ru/play/file/hifi/44850/307290/park_luny_307290.mp3 - Park Luny   Nice one.
The start is same time very cheerful and twisted. Creates litlle bit insane feeling.
Whem The drums starts the feeling changes to more relax and mellow Which is very nice. This remainds me a bit of Mogway: happy songs for happy people-album.
So yes very nice work Clap.

I've got to say.. I just listened to Park Luny ( the very first version you posted, I'm not sure if you posted other versions) and I must say that... well, it's... um... totally... beautiful. I mean, fabulous. Perfection in action. Simply one of the greatest pieces of work I've heard in a while. Ok, so that was pushing it a bit far but I must say i can't wait to hear the other tracks. Add me to your list of people who want your CD as soon as you can get it released.
Oh, and please get it released sooner rather than later, thanks.

Thanks everybody for feedbacks! Siddhartha, I appreciate you loading the whole three tracks - nice to see such attention!
Starsong, this is an edit of MUZIKOY...,and yes, it has no Blade-Runner effect , but you may notice the climax on 3:23 on somewhere there

Hello!
I'm happy to say I'm back with my new track . It's entitled "Amnesia" and it lasts for 13 minutes. But http://www.realmusic.ru/play/file/hifi/0/323843/amnesia_coda_323843.mp3 - here you can load only culmination of the epic, last 2'40"" of it - I just don't want to lay all cards down right now . It's prepared for my second KROBAK album, and it features THE REAL VIOLIN!!! Played by a teacher from my Art School (I've graduated from a guitar course there 5 years ago), thanks, Marina Vladimirovna!

As usual - your comments, curses and propositions . Thanks for your attention.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a label yet I plan to make a split with tracks from the first album and the one I'm working on (the second album) with a friend of mine from Ekaterinburg (he writes Post-Rocky stuff too) and sell this split privately, without labels' participation. But for an album I feel I NEED a label.

Stay tuned, I'll be keeping you all informed

wow...thanks for such beautiful response! Never thought of my music as of anything brain-related though . It's more about feelings. emotions, atmosphere I think...

Posted By: Logan

Sure,  your music is atmospheric and evokes an emotional response, but I've always considered listening to music to be an intellectual exercise (no matter how aware we are of this), as is the creation of it. In a way for me, it's a meeting of minds, the composer's and the listener's -- then there's the act of interpretation.

The way you've structured the music seems to echo or reinforce my own own mental patterns.  I don't feel the need to try to analyze your music as I listen to it, instead I find myself intuitively following your music.  It doesn't jar me; it resonates.  Some music distracts me when it forces me to overtly analyze the music (think about what the composer is trying to do), yours feels more natural, and therefore comes across as more pure for me.  The repetition, for instance,  seems to somehow echo my own mental patterns, and the textures work well with me.  It's logical (from the point of view of my musical training -- our "ears" are trained), yet it appeals to one's emotions (which is a mental component though some might describe it as involving or appealing to the "soul").

Guess the best to say it is simply that the music speaks to me.

again wow and thanks for lil' explaining It's good to feel emotional response and support from people, and even better to find soulmates among them. Music is the best matter of communication, it speaks instead of me

"THREE TIRED HANDS" - new on MySpace page of mine.

First of all, it won't be featured on any album. Second - it's only 4 minutes long, and it's quite experimental for me :). And finally, it's deeply inspired by David Lynch and his own music, so Lynchers - check first!
Download, listen, enjoy and comment!

Igor, Post-Rock is not 'my thing' (yet), but from what I read here, and heard on the tracks you posted here you're doing a great job! Clap

Will there be more releases after the current split with Krikston (If so, you're no longer welcome on unsigned bands of course Wink [jus' kiddin']

Careful now Igor, or we have you moved for inclusion in the archives as a released band ....

Seriously though - how do you feel you fit in with the new rules for Unsigned - we can have you proposed for inclusion now I think.

Review for KROBAK ( New Track Added )
Igor Sidorenko :
-guitar
-drums
-computer effected imagery
-heart, soul, moods

1. They`re All Shot This Winter
2. Album`s Preview
3. Fried Bull`s Blues
4. Three Tired Hands

Almost  trance inducing minimulistic explorations and dreamy images. Suggestive of absence, emptiness, longing and tragedy, even if these cleverly thought out passages never resolve themselves they are constructed over texturized canvasses which build and mesmerize. There are excursions into the chaotic but control constantly prevails and all is restored with reassuring conclusions as if rescued by an omniscient guardian. Fried Bull`s Blues is perhaps the most devious piece on this sampler which is demonstrative of this, with a frantic threatening crescendo which builds up and explodes into brief dramatic choas which almost reaches heavy metal proportions but then abruptly returns to calmity.

Despite the obvious melancholic intentions, the pieces are nevertheless actually very soothing as if to remove the strife and despair that they almost seemingly seek to depict. Adventurous but not as dangerous as some ambient music. After experiencing these short compositions it`s like returning refreshed from another peaceful region of ones consciousness where reality is compressed and rationalized. The music has a lot of depth and understatement with expert use of minimilistic tools and can be interpreted in many ways. It`s going to be interesting to hear the first full length album by this very promising one-mind band which hopefully will occur in the not too distant future. 4 out of 5 stars.

It was/is an independent DIY-release, only 33 copies were made ... Unfortunately, only now some listeners are getting somewhat interested in BUYING the CD, but fortunatly we've managed to send most of copies for free to reviewers and web-zines all over the world. I can "hide" a copy for you till we have some spare ones
