Something that has been troubling me this month since the "April Fools" prank; wanted to let it out of my system.

I admit I had a good laugh watching his audition and his silly dancing style. However, perhaps appearance had made us a bit deaf in the appreciation of his vocal delivery (as well, the rushed reactions of the judges, specially from that obnoxious brittish guyAngry), which, in my own perspective, WAS NOT BAD AT ALL!!.

Yes he's no operetta singer, nor a jazz, pop, whatever singer; not yet. But perhaps a more detailed summation of his performance might give more to think about.

Verse: Yes... "talk to me, tell me your name....": in this section he used a rather different scale from the original verse (which I haven't heard in a long time and don't plan to hear); he increased a half-tone in the sub-dominant, so the intervals were more chromatic; he used some nice vibrato in "like a boooooooooomb". But he used mostly vibrato-less vocals (which is a valid way to sing, last I remember).

Chorus: he was on key!!, vibrato-less, albeit a bit forced, perhaps an unnecesary legato or pitch bend in the "she moves, she moves" part; but... are you kidding!?? he can't sing??? I bet he can beat a thousand Ricky Martins in one note (hyperbolic statements... how I love themLOL); he can't dance to save his life thoughLOL.

Perhaps the judges just were distracted from the awful dancing? perhaps the music style doesn't fit his voice?... All I could advice to the poor guy is to train his vocalization a bit more and to put more intensity into it (it does sound a bit robotic)
