Has anyone heard of this album?
 He was the synth player for Gong on the Gnome trilogy, and this album is pretty interesting. It is all synth and extremely hypnotic, strange, eerie at times but very much in a prog vein.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on it, and perhaps some beliefs on Tim Blake also? I couldnt pass this up having Octave Doctors and the Crystal Machine being one of my favorite synth Gong tracks. Turns out the entire album is very much in the vein of that single song, but just stretched out to intense atmospheres.
Although, I will be honest, nothing on the album, in my opinion, compares to the simple song The Octave Doctors and the Crystal Machine. I find that song brilliant in its simplicity...This solo album has longer tracks, made more for people look to be fully entranced in the music? Doesn't work much for me, it is interesting, though, as I said...I prefer the Gong surrounding elements to this though.  -------------  "Only the sun knew why"

| Tim Blake is one of my favorite synthesists... Crystal Machine is a cool album, and New Jerusalem is pretty good too. I think his lyrics are pretty lame though-- I'm not really into hippy-dippy new age pseudo-mysticism, but to each their own I guess. |

Hey Brian, by sheer chance I ran into New Jerusalem two weeks ago. Didn't hear Crystal Machine, but New Jerusalem doesn't really stick after listening a couple of times. Might try to compare them some time.

I have the two 70s' albums from Tim Blake. Crystal Machine is not bad and electronic ambient driven.
However, I slightly prefer the more pulsating New Jerusalem.
