As a young farmhand and/or graying steelsmith, you must defend your quaint village from a dragon who's awaken from a deep slumber, eager to dine on manflesh. Choose your weapon and fight with honor. Stern%20Smile

By the way, claymores, bows, staffs, and the two-edged axe require two hands to wield, and therefore one cannot carry a shield with them. Keep this in mind when choosing, as shields are very handy when dealing with dragons.

Only wusses need two edges.  Real men only need one.

You've not seen my two-edged one-handed Battle Axe have you Stonas?  I can easily use a shield with it.

Here's me with my single-edger:

I'm not left-handed though... that's how good I am!

Here's my double-edger:

Hammers suck giant monkey balls, it's all about maiming them with a sharp object.  Axes are perfect for the job.

Claymores are too bulky and heavy (my mate has one, so I know).  You want small, light and fast.  Give me some Shuriken as well actually.

Imagine hitting the dragon on the head with an axe. It just splits his head in two parts and it bleeds a little bit.

Now, imagine the sight of the skull of a dragon crushed by a war hammer. Way messier.

tough choice for me between mace and enchanted staff. the latter seems a bit like cheating so I'd go with a mace, but not a ball an chain type yaknow the spiky hammer more like.

I've got to ask, whats a claymore, I thought they were land mine type things that Snake left lying around for The Boss to walk whenever she got near?

As for my wepons of choice, non of the above, I would gor for the double morning star technique, especially if their enchanted.

A claymore is a large Scottish sword.

A Claymore is a huge two-handed sword that is rather useless 'cause it's too bulky and heavy.

That doesn't really show the size though...

Hmmm, this looks smaller...

I agree with Proletariat.  I also am currently playing a Dwarf in AD&D (yikes, 2nd Edition!) and he also has a nice +2 Moon Axe (almost the same as a double-edged axe, of course).  Magical too!  It has cast polymorph self, cast stone skin and some other snazzy feature I've forgotten.

I'm only level 4 though.

But seriously, to kill a dragon, all you need is a length or chain and some conveniently placed pillars. See, Shrek did have the right idea after all.

In all seriousness, out of the choices listed, I would have to go with the enchanted staff. Because it doesn't say in what way the staff is enchanted, I can assume it can make the dragon's head explode or something.

Well, I've already posted that I would use either a bazooka or my mother, but those weren't included in the choices...LOL

I'd definitely choose the claymore, though I was tempted by the magic staff. What kind of magic does it have? I'm not sure i'd wear much armor though, cause i'd just get cooked in it! Maybe some throwing hatchets or spears would be good too!
