I'd replace "Apocalyptic" with "Dark", but otherwise I agree. You're welcome to create an account at my http://progtology.com - website and tag the albums of these artists accordingly ... with the exception of Apocalyptic all the tags are available. Smile

Interesting classification, it describes the artists well. But why isn't Mogwai listed under Melancholy?

I'd put Pelican under Metal also

Yeah. But they'd fit very well under Melancholy aswell. But then again, what Post-Rock band wouldn't?

From the ones in the archives: Saxon Shore, Tortoise, Bell Orchestre, Do Make Say Think and Yndi Halda wont fit. Wink

Seriously though, even though the majority of post-rock bands tend to be on the mellow side, not all of them are.

Bell Orechestre Not really jazzy at all. They do have horns, but thats it. They're more like chamber rock.

Yndi Halda (maybe) They're one of the most joyful bands in the genre. Even their album title shows that (Enjoy Eternal Bliss), but the last song on the album can be called apocalyptic

the subgenres are interesting, they don't bias the "experimental" character, nor the "post" dominant attitude. Smile
