Any reason why this band isnt on the site when bands like Explosions In The Sky, Isis, Cult Of Luna & Red Sparowes are? They arent exactly obscure or anything. Experimental/post-rock from UK. Amazing band.

I think they're fantastic, but they're more of a shoegaze band than an experimental post-rock band.

I've suggested them for inclusion in the past, but they were rejected by both the post-rock and prog-metal teams.

I do not understand this either? They are very atmospheric and heavy. Very similar to Isis and Pelican.

Atmospheric and heavy, yes.... but not terribly progressive.

They're more rooted in 'drone' theory, and usually their songs don't develop very much, at least compared to the epics composed by Isis and Pelican.

Still, I think they're wonderful, they're just more deeply rooted in non-prog genres than progressive ones.

What does Jesu have in common with Isis and Pelican that constantly draws this comparison?  Yes they're very atmospheric, but in an extremely repetitive manner (their main member was also the main member of industrial metal pioneers Godflesh, especially on the first Jesu album there's still a bit of that influence floating around) that makes no real change over the course of any of their songs.  I love Jesu and have enjoyed all of their releases so far, but how people keep suggesting them for inclusion baffles me.
