Now that we have a video feature here at PA,I think we should have a thread to report incorrect or innapropriate videos. Please don't use this thread as a platform for video discussions, but rather to simply report them. All reports will be taken care of as soon as possible.

Quite a few of the ones I've looked at are no longer on youtube.  Do you want us to report these Jody?

Yes, it would be as well to Chopper, so we can remove the links.

Can "too weak videos" be included too?
I personally dislike the video of "Poznan" for Klaus Schulze. Short, blurry and inconsistent.

If the video feature is plainly formal, then the video could, ultimately, be chosen.
But if it's more into showing the artist in a good posture, then this particular video is insufficient, IMO.

I only try to add videos with good picture and sound quality.Short clips, blurry pictures and bad sound doesn't do much to promote the artist.

PROGMAN's adoration for electronic is admirable, but not like this. LOL

though we cant accept Mp3s for Ayreon.

But we can accept their videos?

Stream of Passion / Ayreon performing live at Nosturi, Helsinki, Finland on 19.01.2007. (Note: The band members themselves told that cameras are legal on their gig.)

2. ../media.asp?id=28"> ../media.asp?id=28 - Day 11 - Love

That's inconsistent IMO. Those videos contain music, don't they?

Another issue for a while...

I have a problem with this one: http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=367 - http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=367

First of all, it is not the video of Caravan. It is a video of the guy who tells us the story of Caravan (I don't think we need it here too much), mentioning Richard and Dave Sinclairs as brothers (which they aren't).

After his preview, we have the song "Golf Girl" as a background for the snapshots (or how do you call it in English?) of the recent personnel of Caravan, which is simply misleading, in my opinion, since we don't see any of the Sinclair "brothers" on these snapshots, and the picture of Geoff Richardson with the flute exactly when Jimmy Hastings has his flute part in the song is misleading too.

Grumbling's over...

Eugene

It is also very much annoying (at least to me) to see bad and lousy quality videos here. That way we are doing no favour to anyone, I guess! ...

The last addition of Fripp/Sylvian (ah, under Tray Gunn PA name) is spoiling the joy of watching due to low-fi video quality! Unhappy

I am not acquainted with this Alasca group ( http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=13 - http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=13 ), but it is stated that it was formed in 1997.

The newly added video ( http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=667 - http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=667 ) is stated as 1984, plus it has a title in Spanish.

Therefore the video does not seem to fit the band in PA. Worth checking, since it might be a mistake.

If they are indeed by Gila, I wonder what does this band do in PA. If they are not by Gila, I wonder what do these videos do in PA.

I may be wrong, and if I indeed am, I bring my apologies. But it seems that yesterday or the day before yesterday I saw already some videos from the Pest Folk Festival which also were associated with Gila; they have disappeared quickly, though...

I didn't watch the video yet, but the caption is in Bahasa Indonesia (I think), which makes it unintelligible to everyone but very few site members.

Even assuming that this is indeed a Blackmore's Night song that we are hearing in the background, isn't it a bit of exaggeration?

By the way -- I just paid attention to the fact that this video is added to the Mandalaband page. As the description of it says it by itself, "it's very random"...

It is available. But you're right, It doesn't seem it's got anything to do with Peter Gabriel. And it was added by the same person ( ../Collaborators.asp?id=16583 - Dhana Arielda ) who'd added the videos I reported on the previous page.

Please, delete this video: http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=1024 - http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=1024 . It's got nothing to do with the band SBB. I added it by mistake when I wanted to add the video that was below it.

The last video added (EDERA – AMEDEO MINGHI) I ricordi del cuore has nothing to do with prog... ( http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=1097 - http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=1097 )

In this case EDERA is not the name of a band but the title of a soap opera... Amedeo Minghi is a well-known Italian melodic singer-songwriter an "I ricordi del cuore" is the title of a song of the soap opera soundtrack...

Hiya. Spotted that the Arena video "Snoke and Mirrors" http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=923 Is in fact the not Smoke and Mirrors which is on Pepper's Ghost album, but the song that goes by the name "(Don't Forget to) Breathe" that is on The Visitor. Perhaps you might want to change the name as it is a bit misleading. Thanks.

There's currently on a front page a link to the video of Rawbau & Slaven Bilic, Croatian soccer playerAngry,

http://www.progarchives.com/media.asp?id=1311

I also suggest to delete the profile of a guy who added it:

His nickname represents offensive explecative in Croatian, he's obviously an abuser.

There is a video link to a Bee Gees video on the PA homepage Cry (''How Deep Is Your Love'') under the definition: latest three progressive videos...

Even if it will disappear while more videos will be added, is there any way to prevent this???

Please look here:  http://www.progarchives.com/artistVideos.asp?id=2127 - http://www.progarchives.com/artistVideos.asp?id=2127

Do we really need 38 video clips of Pentangle? And many are of poor audio quality....
This person "incognito" alone added more than 30 clips. I don't see any need for this.
I think there need to be some filtering, or rules to follow when adding video clips, otherwise anyone can add whatever they like no matter how poor or even incorrect the video is.

Posted By: Seyo
Date Posted: March 05 2009 at 07:23
There lots of garbage videos on Youtube and I think we should not allow all members to freely add videos without prior considerations about the quality of audio/video and proper representation of particular songs.

And above all, is anyone checking this topic regularly?

Not sure if this is the best place, but....

None of the 3 videos on the Porcupine Tree page are functional.  For this reason, they should probably be removed.

That's why I am of the opinion that addition of video clips should be limited to certain categories of PA members. There are many poor quality videos (made from audience cell phones...), double clips of the same video, expired clips, incorrect or inappropriate clips etc.
