What a comparision....

One Power Metal and one..... Not even close...

I'll take symphonic over metal any day. Glass Hammer.

To my shame I must admit that I never listened to Glass Hammer. Their albums are very, very rare in Germany, they're not available as downloads on Napster or emusic ... so since I don't engage in illegal downloading: No Glass Hammer for me!

Although I like symphonic prog INFINITELY more than power/prog metal, glass hammer is just your average band going through the motions (chronometree excepted). Blind Guardian on the other hand... well they have released one of my all time favourites (Nightfall in middle earth). For this alone, my vote goes to BG!

Although GH is not something overwhelmingly exciting, I'd vote for them anytime when compared to such ... well Blind Guardian. I must admit I have not listened to the most acclaimed BG's album (Nightfall....), but the rest that I heard from them is simply not the type music I would be remotely interested in.
And, yes, these two are rather incomparable.

This HAS to be pone of the daftest polls I've sen on PA....LOL talk about trying to compare apples with 4X4s...

Ok, I purchased Lex Rex a few years ago, thought it has promise, but it never really grabbed me, so I gave them another chance and bought Chronomotree... really very uninspiring...

so, I've gone for BG, whom I'm a big fan of...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Take a listen to Nightfall in Middle Earth  the production quality alone is huge even if you don`t like Blind guardian lots  there is  so many  things to like about this CD mostly its production  Smile

I still don't get how someone might catch the idea of comparing these bands, but... Well, Blind Guardian impress me much more.

...and what's so special about the production of 'Nightfall'?
