The antithesis to the Grey Room, the Spring Chickens Thread is open only to members 25 and under. When a member turns 26, he or she can no longer post in the thread, but who cares, you're essentially dead anyway. Posting here is just one of many symbols of your fading existence. As the GR attempted to answer questions plaguing the nearly dead, so shall we focus on the issues of youth. Can life get any better? How great is it that our joints don't hurt?  How funny is it when old people try to use computers? Prostate exam, what's that? What day do you wanna have a party, cause I'm always free. How are your parents wrecking your life? What am I going to eat? Oh yeah, whatever I want cause I don't have to worry about cholesterol. LOL

I laugh now, but it's gonna suck when I wake up tomorrow and someone's blocked my IP address.

Edit: The SCT has been renamed the Crimson Room. Leave whimsy at the door as we explore the crippling pain of our brief existences. Drape a dark cloth over the windows and pour out your soul into bad poetry as you consantly resist the urge to end it all. Remember, when cutting wrists, go down the river, not across the bridge.

Isn't the VR for that?

I'm 18 but everything hurts, and life can get better... but not worse.

Cry

The VR is for everyone I believe. I think the GR originally came from an overabundance of youth in the VR but I'd say it's about equal.

My life can't get any worse either, but these are supposed to be the best years of our lives. More's the pity.

If these are the best years, I want to die before I hit the worst.

Let's rename this the emo room

What a gross simplification of teenagers. I have simple shoes and like small amounts of hip hop.

And obviously I MUST represent all teens...LOL

And yes Ansen, you are on a level of Emo that hasn't been discovered.

ADD? I never had real ADD. I tend to blame that on my personality's numbness. Sometimes I just don't want to listen to anyone and dive in my private world.

Good musical technique too. I can't imagine a single moment when any kind of music or hum doesn't go through my head. Sometimes, I can get lost in music, I forgot about anything else. LOL

First serious iscussion. Do we have it easier now than older members had it when they were kids. I say overall no. Technology makes things faster, but there is WAY more pressure on us for academic, athletic, financial, etc. success and teen suiceds are much higher than they were only a few decades ago.

agreed completely. and isn't it ironic how parents often ramble about 'kids these days get everything easily, etc. blah blah and so on...'

i'd say that live now is far more pressured(thus harder) than our old man times

^ That's why I think there is no definitive answer, because much of the pressure comes from a heightened sense of selfishness and entitlement that leaves a kid unwilling to deal with problems.

I believe it is a plaec for people to act like rock stars. For example, someone will "pen" a concept album and allow no input from anyone else or quit due to a drinking problem only to rejoin a day later. It's a little silly.

I think that is the case in general. It's not like people like Jody didn't have TV and planes, but the average American had no idea what was happening more than 30 miles away from him until the mid 90s

The Moody N00bs thread was pretty much a thread of anxiety created by more entertaining members like the Whistler, praise in folly, Australian and so, in order to create a band, with music and lyrics.

Not sure what happened in all the rest of their already 120 pages. LOL

God, I get bored very easily; and, sometimes, that's a bad think to do.
About working, I'm even worse. Sure, being an artist saves me from going and burning my hands at KFC for a dollar, but I'm still way far from my friends and colleagues who do some stuff during the summer.
