Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any information about possible Hatfield and the North remasters any time in the future?

I'm eager to explore this band, but don't like buying cds if I know remasters are planned...

The two classic Hatfield and the North CDs were released with superb bonus material a few years ago. For more information, have a look at the CALYX website!

Thanks! After looking at the website though, I can find no mention of the two albums being remastered...

Could you possibly provide me with a link to any pages where I might be able to buy the remasters?

The current issues of the Hatfield's albums haven't been 'touched-up' yet other than having the extra track bunged onto the end of each album.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

I can't find anything about them, so I don't believe so.

In case you are wondering, you replied before I could re-post my reply which I deleted due to a spelling error I intended to correct

On CDON.com there are 2 diffrent versions of their albums.
The other one is 14 bucks more expensive, so it's probably the remaster Ermm

The ones I have with the bonus tracks sound fine to my ears, although I'm not sure what label they're on.  Remasters often do more harm than good (bad mixes, useless bonus tracks), so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Both H&N records are still under Virgin licence and I heard nothing about a re-master.  Maybe the best you can get in terms of sound is a limited Japanese edition (2004) for both records with exactly the same tracks + the bonus and a  mini-paper sleeve cover.
BTW 1 Dave Stewart always complained about the 'thin' sound of the H&N records
 (I agree) but that won't change with a re-master.
BTW 3Check out also the 2 excellent archive editions edited by the Hatfielders themselves.
BTW 2 the regular Virgin edition pops up from time to time as best price CD.

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"

The bonus tracks however, are top notch, so they're worth getting for those alone.

Ok thanks for your help guys!

I bought both CDs on Amazon for about £4.50 each so I'm happy enough now.

Dave Stewart thought the master tapes sounded thin?  That's interesting.....I felt the same, but I thought it was an intentional thing to get that unique Canterburyesque sharp but fuzzy keyboard/guitar feel.....there's probably not much a remaster could do for Mr. Stewart, nonetheless I'd love to hear his own remastering of the two studio albums and maybe some liner notes by the boys (which are severely lacking on my cover art only CDs...not even credits!)....so if you guys are out there...

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
