A large portion of artists formerly classed as ArtRock are now in their respective new categories of Eclectic, Heavy or Crossover. Much still to do (and disagreement, I'm sure) but it is off to a good start.

Many thanks must be given to all involved in this difficult but important task which was started by micky and Raffaella (Ghost Rider) in a brave push to bring change to an outdated genre. Rico's tireless devotion, enthusiasm and work ethic, and Chus' great contributions as well. M@X and ProgLucky of course, and all the Admins, Atkigani, Progtologist, Easy Livin, Jim, and Tony in particular for his help and moral support. And all the Collabs for their great assistance and encouragement, especially Ivan M, bhikkhu, Geck0, avestin, chamberry, Sean Trane, Garion, salmacis, MikeEnRegalia and anyone I've forgotten. It's been a long haul but it was worth it, and there are now appropraite places for certain bands, 100% prog, that allow those artists some identity and dignity. I say we're contributing to music history, not hurting it. Thanks to the entire PA community !

Thanks David, for the hard work of moving bands.

It is exciting to see a first full shape of the three genres, even if half of the bands from all three were placed like so out of checking up biographical facts and short musical samples. The Art Rock team will further on continue a work of both cleaning-up all the Art Rock genres, from bands that can have a better place, and certifying as best as possible, that all the bands of a new genre belong best in that genre. All the help, of course, will be much appreciated.

Oh poo...does this mean I have to rewrite that Family review where I call 'em "art rock?"

Thank you, David, for remembering us as the initiators of the "AR project". I cannot but compliment you all on the excellent job done so far, and apologise for dumping everything on your (and Rico's, and Chus's) shoulders... Unfortunately, last spring was not a happy moment for me, and I had no choice but take some distance from the site in order to think about other priorities. Hopefully, we'll both soon be back on duty!Smile

Raffaella, you and micky became Art Rock Specialists when there was nobody under such a task (and I should say that, after being Specialists who helped out with the Symphonic clean-up, you took a great responsibility going on holding tight the Art Rock genres, who was practically redefined a bit and received a lot from the Symph bands);
moments after me and David got promoted, you moved on to the big suggestion of finding a new definition for Art Rock or, if not, to split it for its own good.

If micky wouldn't have returned from the cut off you both needed, after those awful discussions, the split of Art Rock would have still went on being discussed right now, because mick was the one who pushed the discussion even further.

It is only the work that we started collaborating on, when we were initiated and trained in the Art Rock  spirit by you two, that led us to all the decisive clean-up sessions and the mindful work of not giving up the split-up ideas, nor making a mess out of it.

So we have, indeed, a lot to thank you and mick. Clap
