I got Indukti's SUSAR at the weekend, and all I can say is its bloody stunning! Like Tool, but better and with less vocals (the few that there are are previded by Riversides Mariusz Duda).

Two questions, what does SUSAR stand for and does anyone know what the band are up to now?

Excellent album, and it is much better than Tool (IMO). I have been promoting this one since I first heard it. They are also mesmerizing live.

Great band!  I saw them live in march and it was a blast!  ClapThey sound even more powerful in concert. I'm not sure what S.U.S.A.R. means but i guess is somenthing in polish. As long as i know they still touring around but they have been playing new stuff lately according to comments of people in the forum of their web site,so i think a forthcoming album is not far, hopefuly they release it early next year.

I've just found an interview with the guitarist of Indukti  - Piotr Kocimski. He explains there that the title S.U.S.A.R. is an abbreviation of Suspected Unexpected Serious Adverse Reactions (it's a medical term).

BTW, I updated the link to their official website. It's now:  http://www.indukti.com/ - http://www.indukti.com/ . Before there was a link to their myspace site in their entry.

They could be compared to Riverside, not really with Tool, since Indukti develop a very much richer musical style, they do a Progressive Metal sound, and because Riverside's vocalist did vocals in Indukti's S.U.S.A.R.

I also see a more Riverside'ish style to them- what an AWESOME album. Hope they put another one out soonThumbs%20Up

Indeed a great album, I only picked it up a couple of months back because I heard people were likening them to Tool. I will be looking forward to their next album, I found SUSAR slightly uneven in places, especially the two poppy tracks which I find disposable, but over all a very good album.

Heck, once I heard the album after Atavachron (i'm sure I mispelt it) reviewed it, I went into his profile to see what else he had reviewed. I couldn't believe that such a band did not have a wider following here. A true treasure foundClapClapClapClapClap

Beyond Moriusz Duda and the fact that they are Polish, I dont see any resembelance to Riverside to be honest.

Ditto, they don't sound very similar.  And they have a slight similarity to Tool at best.

S.U.S.A.R. is my favourite prog-metal album.  A wonderful band and I hope their follow-up album will be just as great!

I also don't find any similarities with Riverside, besides Mariusz Duda's vocals.  I find them rather unique actually, but with a bit of a Tool-feel.

I also prefer them to Tool.

Agreed. I don't think i could trade Tool's whole discography just for SUSAR though. I'm just happy that they're still together and making music.

Btw, thanks for that info PhideauxFan, i'm very anxious for some new material from them as well.

While I would never go so far as to say they are better than Tool, they are very very good.  I definitely prefer the instrumental tracks because I don't like the guy's vocals (can't really get into Riverside either... go figure).

I just love music that's big, heavy, dark and beautiful!

The album SUSAR was published in 2004 on a polish label. A collector.
And on the Laser's Edge Edition 2005, the sounds of harp and the video-clip Mantra were added.

Do you know this little story?
I read an interview of the singer of Riverside. He didn't remember that he had participated to the album of Indukti! LOL
