When I tried to search for "MELLOTRON" to find A big hand for the MELLOTRON !!  post I don't turn it up, I do get other posts with the word in it.  If I search for "A big hand for the MELLOTRON !!" I get I'm short three characters or something like that.  May have something to do with the all caps?

I know people are often complaining that no one did a search for starting a topic that had already been started, but I wonder the search feature isn't also not working properly for them.  Granted there are those who obviously didn't bother to search first.  Please excuse the bold letters, but I tried de-bold (disembold?) them and it doesn't work.

PS I had to update that post a couple of times, it didn't say exactly what I meant at first.  Watching Olberman and dropping in to the site during the commercials.  Sorry if anyone actually read the earlier versions and were wondering what the hell I was talking about. LOL

Did you change the date range to "any date". That thread was started over 6 months ago, the default for the search.

(It worked OK for me with the date range changed)

Thanks for the tip.  I guess the engine has to find the original post and does not look for replies?

Yes, the date field is based on when the thread was started.

Make sure also that you click on "All forums" before searching.
