After a thirty year absence from the music world the Symphonic Preogressive
N.Y. band Cathedral has produced and released a new work. Everything that Cathedral was known for in the 70's, the Mellotron, heavy cutting bass, and dramatic style is present but the "Bridge" has a modern direction and sound.
Defying comparisons it is simply Cathedral. If listeners are eager to hear the soul of symphonic progressive music carry over into the future then "The Bridge" is something they need to check out.

"Stained Glass Stories" is great, and many consider it it the best American prog album ever. I don't know about ever, but I haven't heard any other band from the U.S. that did anything close in the '70s. So what happens when the guys decide to put the band back together after so much time has passed? Unthinkably, it's as good, if not better than their 1978 classic. Hats off to these guys for being able to to come back and immediately create another masterpiece.
