i'm not sure if they've been discussed at all, but i think virgil donati's pre-Planet X band On the Virg is worth considering for addition.

Any chance of hearing some samples in order to submit them to the JR/F team?

there it is, you can download the song "native metal", that might give a clearer idea than the samples.

Well, it doesn't appear that it proceeded at all...  Ermm

This fine band and album is still not to be found on the site, it seems.

I asked in the http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=82726&PID=4900343#4900343" rel="nofollow - Errors And Ommissions  thread if it should be added to Virgil Donati's solo catalogue or evaluated as a separate project, and the reply (which I fully agree with) was that this is a indeed separate project, which therefore needs treating as a new suggestion. This thread had previously been locked since it is now six years old, but thanks to http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=29363" rel="nofollow - Andy Webb it has now been unlocked.  Thumbs Up

Here is the track 'Native Metal' referred to above:

The band in rehearsal for a reunion gig at the Australian Ultimate Drummers Weekend 20th Anniversary event in Melbourne last year:

Some old footage from 1995...not HQ by any means, but samples from this band aren't exactly two-a-penny!  Tongue

I guess this needs to go to the JR/F boys for further attention, so Scott...if you are passing through here??  TongueBig smile

It features the original "alien hip hop", later on Planet X's 'Quantum'. Virgil had another Jazz-rock project in the eighties, but I can't remember its name.

It was called 'Loose Change' - here's a clip:

They released one album, which was digitally remastered from original vinyl 80's release back in 2004: http://www.virgildonati.com/discography/disc-loosechange.php" rel="nofollow - http://www.virgildonati.com/discography/disc-loosechange.php .  Thumbs Up

I disagree with this.  With "Virg" in the band name, it is clearly his project, and in my opinion it should be on his page.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Well, as long as it's on the site somewhere I don't suppose it really matters one way or the other...Any other collabs have any thoughts on this? Follow the http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=82726&PID=4900343#4900343" rel="nofollow - Errors And Ommissions  link for http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=5164" rel="nofollow - NotAProghead 's reasoning, and why he thinks it should be treated as a separate project.  Embarrassed

I have the album for years is a great mix of jazz fusion with prog metal, the inclusion here is without question, similar with Planet X and alike

It was decided that the project was closely tied to Virgil Donati so the album sits on his page. Thanks for the reminder.  http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=45173" rel="nofollow - On The Virg - Serous Young Insects
