Wonderful music! Got lovely avant/ jazz qualities.  Which category would you most like to see him in (as you know more of his music than I)?

He did play with Miles Davis in the 1970s... those are indisputable fusion credentials, IMHO.

^Excellent; recognised the name.  Based on those samples, jazz fusion seems best anyway (just got some great avant qualities too).  Loved the music; its rare that I play all the myspace samples from link someone has offered twice in a row.

I'll mention this to the fusion team.  Watching the youtube video -- oh that's good jazz.

I'm not totally sure but I think that either Hermeto Pascoal and also Egberto Gismonti   (another musical genius) were rejected in the past since the "rock" element was missing in their work. Confused

Currently, considering many new inclusions where the "rock" element is highly arguable I believe it's time to re-think the eventual inclusion of both maestros.

Both artist are more worthy of inclussion than, let's say, Mercury Rev, awsome, beautiful band, not prog at all. Also, Hemeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti are just plain GREAT musicians. GREAT.

I agree with this.
Anyway, I saw several references and mentions of both musicians in several prog-rock and progressive music websites. Their omission from here serves no good purpose and more "harm" is done by not including them, than by including them and it would only make this database fuller and richer to have them here.

Hell, if no one takes them, I'll take them....  to the ZART.... Shocked

That option still open for ZART? ha-ha. Just reminded of this.  Spent quite a bit of time on this one discussing with the topic starter and trying to make a case for it in the JRF thread.
Wondering if it has been fully nixed for the site.
