I am new to this forum, just discovered the website. I have to say that there is one obvious glaring omission to me from the list of bands - Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come. Surely Galactic Zoo Dossier & Journey should be included as important important albums in the development of prog rock? Also, another album I think should be included in any definitive list iof prog rock is Future Games by Spirit - maybe not so much the musical content ( great though it is) but the use of sampling, etc, far ahead of anything else of its time. ------------- Steve |

Aurthur Brown actually appeared on a Klaus Schultze live album simply entitled "Live". I have the vinyl copy , an excellent double live set, but one of those albums which never made it onto CD for one reason or another. |

Yes...he participated in several Schulze projects, not only the "live" but also "Dune" (where he made some recitations in "Shadows of ignorence") and Whanfried "Time actor". -------------

I saw him twice in recent years in acoustic concert. He is a lovable clown , very entertaining and produce a folk rock that would please most of us. He does one of the best I Put A Spell on You version. He spends all of the concert teasing the audiences with Fire before unleashing it at the end. Recently , he also did the Pretty Thing's rock opera version as a guest with Dave Gilmour. A treat! By now I think Kingdom Come has been added and his early stuff should be coming up sometime once the proto-prog sub-genre section created. ------------- let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Arthur moved back to England from the States in the early nineties and has since rejuvinated his career. He gigs regularily and I've been lucky enough to catch him seven times in the last decade.
