Dunno if these guys belong in the archives, but they're at least as prog as a lot of the prog-metal bands here.  They're prog/death, but not in the same way Opeth is.  Tons of AMAZING keyboard work.

They're called Sigh, they're from Japan, and their best album is Imaginary Sonicscape.  Imagine amazing technical, melodic death metal trapped in a dark, Castlevania-esque Nintendo nightmare!

FANTASTIC band! I have all of their albums, even their Venom-influenced debut "Scorn Defeat" on vinyl. I wouldn't really compare them to Opeth, other than complexity. Sigh are much more eclectic and draw on a more black metal influence, as well as horror soundtracks and 70s rock (of course).

Someone once described Sigh as what early-Genesis would have sounded like had they played black metal. Listening to songs like "Shingontachikawa" (from Ghastly Funeral theatre) makes it hard to disagree.

And I wouldn't say IS is their best album... It's definitely "Hail Horror Hail"!
