Combat Astronomy

  /  http://www.discogs.com/artists/C - artists (C)
Real Name:James Huggett
Profile:Industrial strength jazz-rock band formed round the core of James Huggetts heavey bass and drum driven compositions. Progressive, minimalist and intense, with a widening circle of contributors, Combat Astronomy exists in a similar arm of the galaxy to Guapo, Circle, Godflesh, Meshuggah and Thighpaulsandra.
The bands tech-noise roots still show with the copious use of drones and ambientnoise passages.

*Little bump* before it falls off the page. I'm really interested to know what people think of this.  Anyone?

Sorry I'd been meaning to reply to this after your bring it up in the team thread.

Logan, that was a rather strange combination of influences, left me a little confused at times... in a good way. The riffing reminded me of an even more sludgy down tuned meshuggah. From the myspace tracks methinks one of the metal genres could be of suit, structural wise they seem to revolve 'round the metal sound; I'm not entirely sure though. Some further discussion between the two applicable teams would be interesting.

Thanks, Black Velvet.  I've mentioned it to the prog metal team.  EDIT: I guess it could fit Experimental Progressive Metal or Tech/ Extreme Prog Metal.
I'm still not familiar enough with the music from those categories.
