Just love the way Olivia uses those temple blocks and bell trees and wind chimes at the beginning of the song   gonna have to go with her  besides Rush's version is far too commercial and the movie wasn't that good  !   Approve

I want to hear Rush play You're the One That I Want. Not sure who'd sing Travolta's part...

If it was straight up fight between Geddy and Olivia it would be too close to call.  I can't put into words how much i hated the Travolta/John stuff back then.Still haven't watched "Grease" even though my daughter still plays it(one of her favs). Now the song "Xanadu" by RUSH always amazed me back in the late seventies. In my little bedroom at my parents house i had this cheap used record player and i spent a lot of time spinning that LP,but "Xanadu" always intrigued me because of how it took you on a journey and the way the song changed moods and tempo so often. Only Yukorin would come up with this poll.LOL

Rush's Xanadu is a masterpiece, probably their best song ever. There is no possible comparison with Olivia's song of the same title - moreover, being a woman, I can't even claim that she is cuter than any member of Rush (who are not so unpleasant to look at, btw... I've seen much worse in my lifetime).

I'd Xanadu that. EmbarrassedLOL

Seriously, though. Rush's version is one of their better songs. The other one was only really listenable in video format.

Rush wins the battle of Xanadus, but there are few songs more beautiful than Olivia's Suspended in Time from that same album.

And Rush...

OK, not sure if I'd find them cute if I were attracted to men.

Oh definitely Olivia, wouldn't give those talentless monkeys my vote if i were paid... Rush only got where they are and were because of their great looks and mainstream appeal...

What's really funny is that I didn't have to work too hard to post either of those pics, and come to think it of those Rush guys are really trying to do a come hither stare.

When I saw Olivia popping up on the TV for the first time, some five years before she sunk into Grease, I was impressed by her looks, not by her song.
When I heard Xanadu (Rush) for the first Time, I was even more impressed.Thumbs%20Up

Now I'm thinking I really got it backwards.  I should have changed Geddy and company into a Newt(on).  Yeah, maybe even a Fig Newton...

No, in all fairness, Rush's came first, so they should come first in the transformation.  Let's see if I can turn all of Rush into three Newton Johns, bwahahahahah!!!

But, I'll have to get back with you later...

Not really a fair poll.  Perhaps if someone does the same exercise on ONJ website we might get an interesting result!!

I hadn't played the Rush version for some time (Ok you got me - I actually played the tracks), I had forgot how good this track was.

The Rush track for me!
