The entire Just For Fun section has disappeared - is there a problem, or has the site decided to do away with this?

But now Suede Room is locked and has evaporated - do I have permission to make a new one?

Guys, we need to close and hide some "overposted = 1000 replies and more" topics since it's slowing down the server too much. You can start any topics you want (if moderator approved, for sure) but in the future we want to keep an eye and watch for overposted topics.

Please if you encounter slow threads loading, please report ok.

Thanks for your understanding.

Max

Thanks for clarifying Max - closing and restarting threads like that more frequently is no problem at all.

Are you sure that the number of posts has an impact on overall performance? The database should be using indexes to speed up these queries. *If* these threads slow down the performance then they should not only be locked, but hidden. Search engines will crawl them regardless of whether they're open or locked.

Max and Bob (in another thread) specified that they would be hidden as well as closed.
