This is a test poll , to find something out about polls, names of bands these keyboard players are from have been purposely left out.   Smile

I don't see Geddy as a keyboardist. He is a Bassist.

Steve Walsh. The choice would have been less easy if Martin Orford was included.

So good to see Walsh in the lead. One amazing keyboardist, in my opinion.

Geddy Lee is a keyboardist, but his work is usually limited to synth work and some piano.

Steve Walsh for me, definitely.

Mark Robertson is very unknown... check out his band Cairo.... excellent keys

I can't understand why Geddy Lee would have as many votes as he does.  Really- the man's a bass god, but for keyboards?  Are we rating his bass playing against keyboard players' keyboard playing?

I'm puzzled. Confused

^I must agree, even though I don't know the rest of the key men, except for Steve Walsh..

No vote.

Went with Kit, really loved his keys with Happy the Man and Camel. Mark Robertson and Steve Walsh round out the top 3 for me.

Trendt Garner was a chance, but Steve Walsh is by far a stronger keyboardist.

Geddy is out of his league, ge's a bass player and a vocalist.

The Rush fanboyism is showing through here. I don't know all of these guys, There is no way Geddy is a better keyboardist than the ones I am familiar with from this list. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great musician, but come on!

Walsh, but what is this "test" you speak of?

To see how many Rush fanboys/fangurls vote for Geddy?

I'm a reasonable man, get off my case

I haven't heard any of the other players, so I voted Geddy.

yeah that was on my mind a bit so I grabbed some great keyboard players not mentioned much and thought I'd put them up against Geddy mostly for fun because even I love Geddy but I didnt vote for him on this poll even though I would vote for him on any bass player poll I think   Wink

If Steve Walsh doesn't win this, then something is very wrong.

My vote goes to Mark Robertson from Cairo.  Although Steve Walsh gets high marks for his ability to do handstands on his keyboard while playing.

Ya know, I'll be very interested in finding out the reason you listed all these "keyboard" players without their respective band names, but I'm really surprised that Kit Watkins hasn't scored higher.  From a rather subjective standpoint, I have always seen Geddy as a bass player, not as a keyboardist, even though he of course plays keyboards from time to time.  Herb Schildt, I like and I like his band too, but for those who know who he is, I don't think his band is that well-liked anyway, although I find them interesting for what they are.  Trent, I've never cared much for, either as a vocalist, keyboardist or songwriter.  He tries too hard I think.  Kit is awesome and wins my vote hands down.  Walsh, I like a lot, and he might be second on my list, but it's a close call between him and the next person.  Phillips is cool, although sometimes he writes some sappy lyrics, but his music rocks, and he's a fine keyboardist in the heavy neo area.  I think he takes some of his inspiration from Walsh both as a keyboardist and vocalist.  I have to admit, don't know the last one or his band too well, so can't comment.

Anyway, Kit wins!

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?
