Robert Wyatt is another fantastic Canterbury musican that I believe should be added to this fantastic archive site. I'll get on writing bios by next week as well. Hugh Hopper would be another great addition. I also noticed the addition of Isotope & Allan Holdsworth. Good job! Since Danbo already declared writing a bio for Allan, I won't meantion anything on him! LOL!

Thanks.

Yes, he brought so much to the prog world... Here is a quote from the NGEPR :

The End Of And Ear and Rock Bottom are truly two of the most innovative albums ever recorded by this genius ex- http://www.gepr.net/sh.html#SOFTMACHINE - Soft Machine , http://www.gepr.net/mas.html#MATCHINGMOLE - Matching Mole drummer/vocalist. Rock Bottom was recorded after Wyatt's accident in which he fell out of a building and became paralyzed from the waist down. Very haunting and very emotional. The End Of An Ear was Wyatt's experimentation in vocal technique. No lyrics, just voice and incredible music. I love it a LOT.

I entirely agree with these words (even if I am not keen on his vocals... but that's just a minor point).

If Soft Machine is gonna be listed, it's only fair to give Wyatt and Hopper a listing.  After all, they were the creative forces behind the band.

Anybody see the excellent Robert Wyatt documentary played several times during 2003 by BBC 4, the new digital arts TV channel in the UK? Plenty of evidence of the man's creditials there.
