I've heard many times that LaBrie experiments with rapping on TOT. I can't seem to find it though. I've heard the album so many times and love it to pieces, but I can't hear any rapping?
There's a lot of fast vocal lines, but surely that's not it. And obviously it's not all "yo yo homeys" kinda rap so can someone point out the song and what part the "rap" is found at?

The rapping part is in This Dying Soul, early on if I remember right (havnt heard the album ina while).

I'd say parts of Honor Thy Father are a bit more blatant to me, eg "Listen to me you ungrateful fool, here comes a dose of rea-li-ty" not a fan of those parts but I do like to picture the image of MC KJ Labrie -------------  |

Wait, shouldn't you call "Close to the Edge" rap aswell then? Except the lyrics there are FAAAAAR from rap. |

I don't know. I've listened to TOT a lot and I've never heard Labrie rap any.

I have often thought about doing a gangsta rap out of the first few vocal verses of CTTE. As far as LaBrie on TOT, don't know if I would call it rap, just a lame attempt at jumping on the POD bandwagon. This dying soul has some rap sections. If you sign large phrases faster, I think you're rapping automatically. But it sounds good and gives a proper atmosphere to the song. Yes, it sounds too Nu-metal and hip-hop, but who cares... ------------- This is not my beautiful house... |
