The poll is just for fun. Very good band, I think.
http://www.myspace.com/bearisdrivingphilly - http://www.myspace.com/bearisdrivingphilly
It's tagged at myspace as Progressive / Post punk / Experimental
They describe themselves as "progressive, manic, instrumental rock with
a ginormous breadth of influence. It's art for art's sake."
It's part math rock, part avant, part heavy prog etc.

How does "just for fun" stand in regard to evaluating it for Eclectic?

Wonder if they're familiar with fellow Philly avant-proggers The Red Masque...

^I imagine they would be familiar with The Red Masque (you know my tastes are on the avant side).

My last one, Progressive Dementia, was more for fun (thought people might get a kick out of it).
We'll evaluate it for Eclectic worthiness in our team thread; the poll itself is just for fun. Non-controversial, non well-known (and non-prog related) suggestion topics commonly don't get many responses (or hits), so will be interested to see just how many vote.

I think we might need a poll - Bear is Driving vs. the Friendly Bears.

That would be a good one -- as long as no one comes in and says, "Where the hell is Art Bears?"
Perhaps we could put them up against Volcano the Bear --> http://www.myspace.com/volcanothebear - http://www.myspace.com/volcanothebear
Side-note: the poll results thus far are much as I expected.

Ah, cool. I'll go checking and voting then.

I added it to the chart and voted yes. For me from the very start it seemed like a good one for Eclectic, and a very good band to boot (not that we should boot it, just a good band for shoere, erm sure). I really think it would be a very good addition to the archives, so I'm ever so slightly disappointed by the general lack of interest (not even one vote in the poll?)

This is a pretty good album.
