I would play Sad Rain by Anekdoten or something by John Martyn.

The easy answer is The End by The Doors.  If that can't be found then In My Time of Dying by Led Zeppelin.

I Love the Dead by Alice Cooper is my choice for a funeral procession.

Glosoli - Sigur Ros.
i think i could die happy if that song was playing.

actually i could do anything happy, murder babies, kill puppies, shoot my grandma. . . as long as sigur ros is playing there is absolutely no chance of feeling sad.

EDIT - Also, from Johnnytwentythree, Fall of Swords. talk about a way to go. you'd just melt away, float. . . .

Confused My dying what? Dog? Annuals in the flower bed? Interest in this forum?

Oh, I get it -- you misspelled "dyeing."

Good music for tie-dyeing a T-shirt would be something fairly far-out -- perhaps some Tangerine Dream.

Good music for dyeing my hair would be "Outrageous" by Paul Simon:

I'm http://serv.clicksor.com/go.php?nid=1&cpx=cpc&uid=2034475054&pid=1322&sid=1491&kw=painting&curl=http%3A%2F%2Fmeta.7search.com%2Fclick%2Fclick.aspx%3Fx%3DqDNtZYJ42GBLMzgOTaQCmg%253d%253d_Zb0tjDXmxHX7ciZ84pUWkIAQhRmHVISEvklq8g6A3nawIaRxbjhetKw%252f1uKtEDGjr%252bRVOaVGGxCOjY1phPyGnd3J0N8DEpbQSFPKlFsh6xpVdnrTyJQAB5tnndq4oYA5K%252fAIwLse%252fUi1up0tzwXLBg%253d%253d - painting  my javascript:void%280%29 - hair  the colour of http://serv.clicksor.com/go.php?nid=1&cpx=cpc&uid=2040032610&pid=1322&sid=1491&kw=mud&curl=http%3A%2F%2Fr.looksmart.com%2Fog%2Fpr%3DPsr%3Bro%3D1%3Brc%3D7%3Bdigest%3Dcae9a03cce8954583300caa892e39a0f%3Bkid%3D039ce6635d8520bc6a6cbf0ae4db27ab%3Bt%3D1225462114%3Bv%3D5%3Bdata%3Dfcaab866ca8c19a96a1fa885993b2481fdb780b344413847c7b57deef8114597a093656645407993ff444035cc0d625c26c4ffed14d05e67c717df8f05d082902ef4f910218537bdb368a1d7e9b0373094e795acd3f00a5d12b08e0e5e5a0d0b15606976eaa43551c33b8532315cb0e43c11253454eb909ac2697244600ec215099ef30582b79d582bc53c7a3e0c16f7%3Bla%3D628127%3Blm%3D727965%3Bad%3D580111070%3Bkw%3D177376336%3Bbla%3D810067%3Bblm%3D1020164%3Bbad%3D667510905%3Bbkw%3D506308503%3Bbvid%3D1%3Bbpi%3Daj_lksmbf_13%3Bvid%3D0%3Bbvr%3D24%3Bqt%3Dmud%3Bvr%3D20%3Blt%3DBM%3Bip%3D208.101.93.78%3Bpt%3D%3Bst%3D21.19.0.0.0.0.0%3Bos%3D1.0.7.0.24.20.7.5%3Bsy%3Dkeyword%3Bmy%3DROC%3Bgeo%3D894231%3Bvid%3D0%3Bii%3D2ba.26bb.490b1162.97%3Bpn%3D%3Bto%3D%3Btc%3D7%3Bpo%3D1%3Bpc%3D7%3Bpi%3Dckss1%3Bts%3D%3Brm%3D%7Chttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.couponmountain.com%2Fsearch.php%3FsearchText%3Dmud%26source%3Dask_ROC_Uncategorized_keyword_mud - mud , mud, OK?
I'm tired, tired, anybody care what I say? NO!
Painting my hair the colour of mud.

Who's gonna love you when your looks are gone?

Good music for a funeral, however, would be "Here In Heaven" by Sparks: Big smile

Here, there are lots of things to do
And a panoramic view
Of the universe completely surrounding you and me
You cannot buy souvenirs
You're never going back, never, never
Basically, I guess it could be worse
Yes, I do suppose it could be worse

Here, there are many, many sheep
And the people only sleep
And awake to tell how gory and gruesome was their end
And I don't have many friends
And it's really very clean and I'm thinking
Juliet, you broke our little pact
Juliet, I'm never coming back

Up here in Heaven without you
I'm here in Heaven without you
Up here in Heaven without you
It is Hell knowing that your health will keep you out of here
For years and years and years

Napalm Death's "You Suffer". One second and a bit.

On itself a good choice but I guess you missed the point Drew was making with this one hour song LOL.

I myself would pick either The Odyssey by Symphony X or Monsters & Men by The Flower Kings if I had to go for the best. If I had to pick a suitable one I would take Another Day by Dream Theater.

Tip for Drew: Ikea by Night by The Flower Kings (5 sec.) Dead

Well, A change of Seasons by DT... It's long enough to give 23 more minutes of life, and also, at the end it brings like a sense of closing... it would be a good departure.... anyway, it's my favorite song ever so that would be the primary reason...

Jacob's Ladder by Rush would certainly fit the bill, being that it's very dark and one of my favorite songs of all time. On the other and more uplifting hand I think Silently Falling by Chris Squire would be a good choice, as that's always been an emotional tune for me.

It would speed up the process.

But before that I'd listen to the Finlandia Suite - Sibelius.

You may not know this, but Sibelius actually wrote Finlandia as a lengthy intro to Mysterious Girl.

I'd like to slow down the process, so how about Yardbirds' Train Kept a Rollin'?

I would choose "Bleak, Uncertain, Beautiful" by GYBE!, which is on the vinyl version of F#A#infinity. There's a locked groove at the end, so in theory I'd live forever as long as the needle was lifted.

If you wanted a serious answer, I'd probably choose "Wings for Marie" by Tool.

I'd probably choose American Pie by Don Maclean, just to remind me of the history of rock & roll from the early days to the early 70's.

For my funeral I've chosen Amazing Grace, and Stairway to Heaven for the hymns, and Great Gig in the Sky for the committal.  (My kids already know this)

It would easily be "A Day in the Life" on the original Sgt. Pepper's vinyl. That way I'd live until I took the needle off LOL.
Barring any songs that would make me live as long as I wanted, it would be Supper's Ready. Or a peaceful song like Starálfur by Sigur Ros, Prelude: Song of the Gulls by King Crimson, or any number of The Flower Kings' songs along the lines of The Navigator. Actually, "Theme for a Hero" by TFK.
Well, after quickly browsing through a couple thousand songs, I've discovered how extremely indecisive I am.
