a couple of days ago I was in one of my fav record shops with a psy/garage/prog section and they have always interesting records playing and while going through the Cd's there was this fantastic record playing and I went to the counter and asked was it was and it's band called Contrastate (look for the infos below) which is just fantastic. They produce a great athmospheric mix of moody elecetronics, vintage keyboards, spoken theatrical lyrics and then some! 100% prog : RIO approach with a psy/space sound

 "Contrastate were formed in 1987 by Stephen Meixner and Jonathan Grieve.
Their initial musical ventures were of a more improvisational nature, based on noise and volume (not to be confused with power electronics). Excellent experimental/ avant electro, industrial, drone, ambient psych music. Very good Electronic Avant music. Pretty freaky. The Contrastate was a bit more interesting. When I hear stuff like this I sort of wish I was 16 years old and had more time to check out all these obscure bands.
