I'm surprised I couldn't see his name mentioned on this site. There are some very generous samples from each track on the album on CD Baby. The CD Baby album review I submitted (maybe a year ago) is posted up there. I think a lot of Gabriel/Genesis fans will find this a very credible, genuine and enjoyable album - it's definitely NOT a poor mans Genesis, a tribute act or highly derivative - it's simply music in a similar vein but with a contemporary edge; it's very musical and the highlights are his vocals (without a doubt), the musicianship and the recording quality. At least enjoy the samples - the album lives up to the promise. I understand he has another album on the way.

Good - it maybe considered lightweight because of the pop element compared to traditional prog rock (what ever that might be) but it didn't do Mike and the Mechanics or some of the later Genesis any harm IMHO.

Indeed, lemonstar, although Mike and the Mechanics is not in the archives, and later Genesis would not be included if it were not for the earlier albums (there being a complete discography policy). It's not a matter of quality; merely of categorisation. We'll see what the Crossover team says.

Incidentally, you joined not many months after me, but welcome to the board. :)

His website suggests the next album might be worth considering:-

"Finn Arild is currently working on a new progressive rock concept album named Testament. The story is about our current tale of how the universe started, life developed and the consequences of human development."

Sounds like the stuff of true Prog Rock material to me - conceptual and highly ambitous.

Thanks for the welcome - I only wish I had more time to be here - I was buying the KC, ELP, PF, PFM, Genesis, The Enid and Gong classics when they were beng released (roughly 73 onwards) - in fact saw The Enid at Victoria Hall Hanley when RJG was actually quite ill and the Roland Guitar synth was state of the art! I can remember rushing into town after school to buy the vinyl on a lot of those classic release days.
