along with Zeppers, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, the occasional old punker like Johnny Rotten. I wish that their seeming definition of "Classic Rock" was followed by the radio stations that proclaim this as their genre.

I have actually talked to the guys in Classic Rock and it seems like they are closet-EGG fans. At least one of them are quite open about it. Yes, I am referring to the Canterbury band with the same name. I think Classic Rock magazine is excellent and I get my fill of music with a combo of them and PA. That's all I need, really. |

Snakes & Ladders was voted the second best album of 2007........ just pipped by this Chinese Democracy thingy who was not even out then. The guys in Classic Rock is OK and should be treated as friends by PA. Classic Rock has run at least two progressive rock special issues. Both of them are superb. They also feature new prog rock bands on their CDs. I had a look in my magazine rack and I also found one Prog Rock special issue by the extreme metal magazine Terrorizer Mag. They too treat prog rock with a healthy dose of respect and admiration. |

Well personally I think Classy Crock has really gone  down the hill the last two years, with some really poor journalim and their bloody top 40 or 100 lists abourt everything.
I used to buy almost everymonth, for there were at least one or two articles I liked and two more that seemed correct, but lately, I've bought the rag every four months or so. Always the same bad groups featured, it's a bit sickening
 While it's true that they do look up to prog
, I haven't been able to forgive their short-sightedness outside UK and US rock . There has been fewer articles about lesser known groups, too!!!And since that time of poor journalism started with those lists, the porno adds and pink telephone adds have appeared in the adds section past the merchandising and CD retailers, >>> real classy

| Classic Rock is the best of a bad bunch by some distance. Unfortunately, they tend to emphasise eighties American rock, such as Guns 'n' Roses, presumably because this is what sells. I'll give them credit where it's due though as they have featured ELP, Yes, Budgie, and Foghat. Their cover discs can be very good and have included quality material from Nektar and Ozric Tentacles. |
