Here's a great and relatively unkown band from Los Angeles, California. They formed in 1970 or 1971, I think. They released only one amazing album in 1972. There's not much info about them, except various blogs, but those usually only have about a paragraph worths of info. I did write an article about them on Wikipedia about a year or two ago:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoodThunder_%28band%29 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoodThunder_(band)

I definitely think that their music could be described either as Cross-Over or Heavy Prog.

Here's a myspace page someone created, it only has 6 out of 8 songs that appeared on their one and only album:

Some additional/interesting info related to GoodThunder.
After GoodThunder disbanded in 1973 the main core of the band played in another band called Daddy Warbucks, which was a litely prog influenced melodic hard rock band. After that their lead singer, James Cahoon Lindsay, did a solo album. (both Daddy Warbucks and James Cahoon Lindsay albums were released on the infamous and obscure Tiger Lily Records.) Their keyboardist, Wayne Cook, joined and played with Steppenwolf on their Skullduggery album, played with soft rock/AOR band Player, then played with Alice cooper in 1981 and dropped off the face of the planet. (along with the rest of the guys from GoodThunder after 1981) from 1976-1980 the core of GoodThunder played with singer Karen Lawrence in the Hard Rock/AOR bands L.A. Jets and 1994.

I will post a link to this thread in the Heavy Prog team thread, and the band will be evaluated as soon as  as we have cleared the current backlog of additions and evaluations

There is one thing though...the band pic you used is of a different band called GoodThunder. Here's a link to the GoodThunder we're talking about.

P.S. Oh and a minor thing, there name is spelled GoodThunder with no spaces.

Thanks!

hmmm... this seems a bit confusing...Confused

The Wiki entry (which I didn't know existed, not that it says much), and PHROCK both list the band without the space, however the MySpace page (albeit probably constructed by a fan) puts a space in:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=311491453 - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=311491453

they are also listed as Good Thunder on Allmusic and RYM... so I actually think its one and the same band...Confused

anyway, that's a great piccy (I did see that one, but not in that condition..Wink) so many thanks..Clap
