I have been using this place as a source for music for a while now, and I just registered.

I registered so that I could suggest a band. This band you may think is not progressive.... But they have a alias that actually does make progressive Rock.

The Future Sound of London goes by the name The Amorphous Androgynous... they have some rel nice Progresive  stuff. Similar to CAN, but they also have some more structured rock passages. If you Like FSOL or CAN, Krautrock... Sphongle, stuff like that check it out.

They use sitars!

Short article about them in the latest (?) Classic Rock, (in fact there's also a short article about Stray Dog with a recent interview with Snuffy Walden, somaybeClassic Rock is improving???). I digress. Gary Lucas was staying with me  during a short break from a UK Magic Band tour, when he rang the Future Sound Of London guys guys and agreed to tour Australia with them - as you known the distinctive sound of Lucas can be heard on a few tracks on their Alice album

I just recently discovered them. Based on the one I've heard, The Isness, Psych/Space-rock wouldn't sound too unreasonable. The rock aspect is a bit on the low side, but it is rather proggy stuff. Thumbs up from me! Thumbs Up

Always loved FSOL. I still think 'Lifeforms' is one of the best albums of the 90's.

I was slightly underwhelmed by Amorphous Adrogenous' album 'The Isness' There were some nice sound scapes, but I felt it fell into cliches at times. I actually dont like the sound of sitars in non traditional music. It just sounds a little cliched to me. I was listening to a lot of electronic music, throughout the whole of the 'rave' era, and the best stuff was produced at the tail end of it imo. Some of the FSOL ISDN broadcasts were mindblowing.

I remember the first Amorphous release (Tales of Ephidrena??) I really liked that.
