Yes, I know, it's been suggested, one in 2008 was never responded if someone had evaluated them or not, besides Greg's(Logan) posts and others. I'm not sure in which sub-genre, because rather than straight-forward Jazz Fusion(dunno what that means actually), he spans much more, a lot of experimentalism, using odd elements for music such as teapots, animals(well Floyd, I know..), and toys... Obviously, not all his career is 100% Jazz Fusion, but still there's a lot of material that is already worth of inclusion. It's also worthy of mention that he played with Miles Davis in Live Evil. But I suppose the best shot would be Jazz Rock/Fusion, though a odd entry for sure, I can hear avant and even folk elements in a lot his songs. HP is very progressive, Cacho... but I miss the rock part into his work, except for his live acts which remembers me those rock festivals from the 60s and 70s - some real happenings!  ------------- Guigo ~~~~~~ |

I think HP would be a great addition and jazz fusion seems to fit. He is avant -garde as well which is great as it makes for interesting listening with a brazillian flavour. ------------- Matt |

| Hermeto is definately progressive, a culmination of progressive - much more than most of the formulaic rock bands featured in this site. And like others pointed out, even if there's not much "rock" in his music, he has recorded works in the jazz fusion avantgarde and "progressive folk" vein. |
