They're doing the Cleveland - Chicago jaunt that so many bands do, as they thumb their noses at us Detroiters on their way by.

Oh man....this is TOO GOOD to be true! Cleveland show is less than 90 miles from me door to door.
And I get to see The Church in late June either Cleveland OR Pittsburgh. This is turning into a lucky year.

it's the first leg, so they should come back for a second and maybe even third leg, and in that amount of time I'm sure they'll pretty much get to everywhere in North America

Just came across some additional PT items.  I don't think the dates are different, but I think that the expected release date of the album and the signing with Roadrunner Records might be new:

ROADRUNNER RECORDS ANNOUNCES SIGNING OF PORCUPINE TREE

NEW ALBUM OUT ON SEPTEMBER 22, ALBUM TO COINCIDE WITH U.S. TOUR

New York, NY: Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of British progressive rock band PORCUPINE TREE, one of the most difficult-to-categorize yet innovative bands making music today. The band’s music ranges from psychedelic trip-hop to progressive rock, and a compendium of other sounds in between. Porcupine Tree have already been a part of the international Roadrunner family; they have been signed to Roadrunner Europe since 2006 and are now transitioning to all territories outside Japan.

Senior VP of A&R for Roadrunner Monte Conner says, “Porcupine Tree have been making vital and important music for many years now but over the last few years in particular, that music has been reaching many new ears. Roadrunner hopes to not only continue that growth here in the U.S. but accelerate it and expose the world to the massive talent this band has. I am honored to welcome Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree to the Roadrunner fold.”

The band is fronted by singer/guitarist Steven Wilson, who, in addition to his critical acclaim with Porcupine Tree, is also known for his work producing other artists, such as Swedish progressive metal group (and now labelmates) Opeth and Norwegian chanteuse Anja Garbarek. Porcupine Tree have released three albums through Lava/Atlantic: In Absentia, Deadwing, and the Grammy-nominated Fear of a Blank Planet, which was recognized as “Best Surround Sound” album in 2007.

The album will contain a 50 minute long continuous song cycle, along with three additional “shorter” songs. Roadrunner plans to release the album on September 22nd. The band will embark on a U.S. tour to coincide with the album hitting stores.

Below is the initial run of tour dates:

September 15 – Moore Theater – Seattle

September 16 – Roseland – Portland

September 18 – Warfield – San Francisco

September 19 – Club Nokia – Los Angeles

September 21 – House of Blues – Cleveland

September 22 – Vic Theater – Chicago

September 24 – Terminal 5 – New York

September 26 – Electric Factory – Philadelphia

September 27 – House of Blues – Boston

September 29 – Metropolis – Montreal

September 30 – Queen Elizabeth Theatre – Toronto

Not sure if want.

Might have to go for the King's X and leave fashionably early. Unless they have anything pre-In Absentia planned for the setlist.

Hi mate. A long shot because I obviously don't know where you live but just wanted to pass on a friendly heads up for the next Haken show;

YES! A Carnival of music held at "The best live music venue in South-west London" Progressive metal at it’s best and like you’ve never heard before.

HAKEN have been working carnivorously hard on their debut album. Due for major label release in 2010, the band wish to give a packed house a taster of their new five dimensional sound soon to explode on the music scene - a premier performance of the forthcoming debut album in its entirety!

Damn!  I'm not sure if I want to go to the Cleaveland show and miss some class or make a looooong road trip to Philly (from Detroit) and make a weekend out of it!  I'm probably gonna go for the latter, with a 2.8 last semester, I don't think I can afford to miss any class Unhappy

I saw them in Portland on the 16th. They played the Incident entirely, absolutely awesome. Bought the CD(s) as soon as they came out. Very dynamic, could be their best yet, I am listening to it constantly.

Does anyone know the current tour's set list? I was too busy freaking out at the show to remember. If you're anywhere near a show, GO!

I sure wish King's X opened for them that night. Instead, it was "That One Guy", a one man show with a funky pipe contraption/instrument. Pretty fun opener, but not KX.

Thanks PT!
