I posted this sneaky bit of propaganda on White Willow's myspace, but I'll share it with you too:

"Almost, but not quite, a new White Willow release

Just a little note to let you know that those of you who are waiting for new White Willow music might be well advised to check out The Opium Cartel's debut album "Night Blooms". The album features no less than six former or present WW members, including Sylvia (Erichsen) Skjellestad, Lars Fredrik Frøislie and myself.

The music, while leaning more towards indie aesthetics than pure prog, is in some ways a throwback to the earlier, more folk-inflected White Willow days, and there's plenty of acoustic guitars, flutes, mellotrons and moogs for those of you who like those sounds (I know you do ;-)). The album even features a reworking of the WW tune "The Last Rose of Summer", as well as one tune that WW performed live on one or two occasions, the "Storm Season"-ish "Beach House".

Hear samples on
http://www.myspace.com/opiumcartel - www.myspace.com/opiumcartel - then buy the album from Termo Records' webshop (www.termorecords.com) if you fancy the sound. The album has its official release on May 1st and will be available from quality record stores and online vendors worldwide.

(If you live in Europe, places like Musea, Burning Shed, Mellotronen, Record Heaven et c will be carrying it - as well as major distributors in most European countries.)

Thanks,

Jacob

Will it be released through Amazon?

I think I've been eagerly awaiting Night Blooms for well over a year now.

Andrew - I think it will be available from amazon as well through our larger distributors.

Thanks for your patience ;-)

Actually, I just checked and it's already there (amazon), available for pre-order. Wow, that was quick!

Thanks Jacob for that.  I love Storm Season and Sylvia's vocals (I have all the other WW albums as well).  I may well just check this one out. Thumbs Up

Edit: turns out I'm friends with The Opium Cartel on MySpace.  Excellent! Big smile

I'll be picking this up when it's available at Laser's Edge, Syn-Phonic and the likes.

All the best with this album, Jacob !
