HI PROG FRIENDS, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA.

Peruvian band FLOR DE LOTO is on the brink of releasing their third studio effort, entitled "Mundos Bizarros". Some of the new material can be listened to at their Myspace blog -
http://www.myspace.com/flordelotoprogre - www.myspace.com/flordelotoprogre
The new tracks downloaded for audio are 'Habitante de un Mundo Imaginario’, ‘Amnesia’, ‘Shamballa’ and ‘Danza Celta Pt. 2’.

Wednesday, May 20th, is the day spotted for the FLOR DE LOTO concert that will signal the official release of the aforesaid album: Teatro ISIL de Larcomar, Miraflores,9.00 PM. This is the very same spot that FDL used for the official presentation of their previous album "Madre Tierra".

Plus, there is another gig shceduled for June 2nd, at the Centro Cultural La Noche, at 10.30 PM (Bolognesi, 307, Barranco). Sure therewill be more events throughout this year 2009, which is a special year for FDL given the reaffirmation of their musical path and their discography. Releasing 3 albums in a 4 year span is an indication of hard work and constant inspiration.

News about prices will follow soon.

         Kind regards.

Here http://www.radiojean.com/musica/flor_de_loto - http://www.radiojean.com/musica/flor_de_loto  you can listen to 3 tracks from the forthcoming third release. The one entitled 'La Fortaleza' is particularly powerful, promsing to be one of the highlights of the aforesaid album, an edgy example of Tull-meets-Maiden in pure FDL style; 'Habitante de un Mundo Imaginario' is also quite awesome, focusing on the ethnic fusion-friendly side of the band.

         Kind regards.

I'm glad you enjoyed the music made by these brillant band that refurbished the art-rock scene in Peru. Here's a great reminder of the band's performance at Crescendo Festival 2008, in France: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWyI5UwCXH4 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWyI5UwCXH4 playing 'Atlantis', one of the tracks included in their forthcoming "Mundos Bizarros" album.

There are also the joyfully Celtic-tinged 'Danza Celta 2' and the romantic 'Nubes Oscuras' (with a deep fusionesque edge). This albums really promises to be quite big: FLOR DE LOTO is already a veteran band... and none of their albums has been reviewed at DPRP yet!  Ha ha ha...

Well, in a couple of minutes off I go to the gig, but I guess I'll go to cafeteria nearby before the concert so I can enjoy a pancake and a fruit juice.

        Kind regards.

It was great!!
The band is tighter tha never, and also more aggressively driven without stopping to expand their progressive peculiar statement.
Already have their latest album, which I have just included in the Archives. This has to be their best so far!!

NEXT STOP:
Tuesday, June 2nd
La Noche de Barranco
Avda. Bolognesi, 307  (Barranco - Lima)
10.30

Here http://www.radiojean.com/musica/flor_de_loto - http://www.radiojean.com/musica/flor_de_loto  you can listen to 'La Fortaleza', one of the most powerful tracks from the new album. It is tight and heavy, and also full of finesse and pristine interplaying.

No, he's not, but the separation took place in August 2007, it's been long ago. The reasons were not really musical, but interpersonal, it was more about personality clashes. Anyway, the influence left by Pérez seems to be eternal, since the band's crescient involvement in the fusion focus for their soudn and compositions remains a powerful source up to this day (the "Mundos Bizarros" album).

     Kind regards.

Well, I'm quite new with Flor de Loto. But, thanks for the answer.

I haven't heard the new album yet. I'm just into Madre Tierra and it's great!

Info update:
Julio Pérez and Cristina Leguía will guest on support vocals for a couple of tracks, and guitarist Julio Caipo will do similarly making interesting duets with the band's own Alonso Herrera. Caipo was one of the co-producers and musical arrangers for the new album "Mundos Bizarros".

  Kind regards.
