Hi, progrock fans!

I knew something about this Danish metalprog band called Anubis Gate when a friend of mine introduced me in their works with (2005)A Perfect Forever and (2007)Andromeda Uchained. I do like progmetal too, but with those cds I felt they might do better if they could reach higher. They seemed to me a GOOD band, but as empty of something just to help them reach success.

Well, I buyed (2009)The Detached, and I must say that all I wanted to hear is inside this fantastical album. A conceptual history about an inmortal in time and a woman. Here they show what I needed to hear. Awesome songs, incredible technic and the big voice of Jacob. All of this remarked with a fantastical production...Itīs a very very recommended album where the most technical side of the band is showed largely. Thereīs been a 180š turn in the band definitely...for better.

Somebody has listened to it? Opinions? Thanx very much all...Wink

It's a good album. Not a masterpiece, but quite good.

Never heared them or of them.

However, I'm quite sure the band name is taken from a great fantasy / science fiction book with the same name written by Tim Powers.

Have anybody else read this book ?

Sure. Fantastic book, by far his best. Think he lost his way somewhere along the line, because none of his books reached the same level and ... what was it called ... Stormy Season?, something like that, was unreadable. Expiration Date and his pirate book (On Stranger Tides if memory serves) was really quite good though, and The Drawing of the Dark is a classic as well.
